5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice high quality
We decided to put an additional handset outdoors on our covered patio that gets exposed to blown in rain when it comes down hard. We also wanted to use it when gardening so being moisture resistant and drop resistant were top factors. The handsets that came with our pany's were just regular ones so they weren't cut out for the job. This additional handset is designed...

1.0 out of 5 stars Dead in 5 months
Had this system for 2 years and none of them work well, all of them drop calls in the middle of dialing and cannot "reconnect to base." Tried everything (thought the battery was loose or something) to get them to stay on, but no luck. Bought a replacement phone, which didn't drop calls (hooray!) but after 5 months it only works on speaker or headset mode. If I wasn't...

This additional handset is designed to do what we wanted! Physically, it's a little larger in size and has a pseudo-carbon fiber look to it. It's all quality, with the handset being able to adapt to night mode, an important factor since we don't want the outdoor handset ringing at night.

Can't attest to long term use just yet so I'll make an update over time. I am thrilled that the handset also uses regular AAA batteries (2) so when the stock NIMH batteries go kaput then I can easily procure new ones. No proprietary mumbo jumbo.

Edit:

After 1.5 years the phone works like new. No problems whatosever. It's been outside all this time and that includes countless storms, including tropical storm force winds blowing rain pretty hard. I don't even flinch worrying about the phone's longevity. GREAT PRODUCT!

The panasonic dect 6.0 have been exceptional phones. Great range clarity and non-interferrence with wireless.
This phone is the more durable design (water and drop resistant) and it really seems to be. Buttons easy to use, very durable shell (we know already) and reasonably priced and dect 6. You cannot go wrong with Panasonic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Product at a Good Price, September 20, 2008
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TGA935B Extra Handset for KX-TG9333T, Black (Office Product)
I was replacing an older Panasonic setup (KX-TG2730S) with extension phones. I am pleased with this phone and this seller. The VOLUME isn't as loud as the old phone and I liked the louder volume. Also one of the 6 A/C adapters was bad out of the box, but Panasonic replaced it QUICKLY and easily. That's all the negative I have to say, but plenty of positive! The unit is smaller, more durable, and uses half as much power as the older system. This system also has a much longer ranger. In this case, from a total of two sellers, I bought 6 phones. . . the main system with two phones and then 4 more extension handsets the models are KX-TG9372B and KX-TGA935B. I would recommend them overall!

5.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good, February 13, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TGA935B Extra Handset for KX-TG9333T, Black (Office Product)
Ordered these to expand a cordless set I already have. Easy to link up, and no problems at this point. I am impressed with ease of use and quality thus far.

Advice: If you are looking to expand a cordless set, be sure that the expansion sets you get are compatible with what you already have (I missed on the first attempt). Not all Panasonic DECT handsets are compatible with all systems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great phone, December 11, 2010

I originally purchased a base with two handsets and added one of these heavy duty additional sets so I could have three total. I think the base can handle 4 or 6. Anyway, this heavy duty impact and water resistant one also looks great after years of use. The two original handsets look worn. I just replaced the worst one with another of these heavy duty phones. Unfortunately they are a little larger and won't fit in the base, so I am stuck with one of the originals unless I buy a new base. Haven't seen a base kit with the heavy duty phones.
I also wanted to comment on the Talking Caller ID. This phone supports that, but you must have a base that supports it also. You have to have a sense of humor to appreciate Talking Caller ID. Sometimes it works great. It's loud enough and if you hear "Unknown Caller" (aka salesman), you can decide whether you want to stop what you are doing and answer or not. But so many of the Caller IDs are abbreviated and the phonetics of the reader makes some very interesting and unintelligible announcements. If that irritates you, this may not be the phone for you. It bothers me more that some companies have somehow faked their Called ID tags so you won't know who they are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly!, March 15, 2010

We had already owned the base unit and the 4 handsets that came with it, and wanted to expand to the maximum 6 allowed. I researched the options, and this extra handset is one of the two that seems to be compatible with the base unit we have. I liked this one because it seemed sturdier - since it is touted as water and impact resistant. I also liked the fact this one has the buttons that light up, like the original set, and the other expansion option did not have light up buttons. My husband liked the red highlights!

we are very happy with these two additional hand sets.

Good sound quality, battery life and the solid feel of this phone makes it the best choice for an additional handset.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rugged phone that looks good and is easy to work!, December 6, 2009

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TGA935B Extra Handset for KX-TG9333T, Black (Office Product)
I bought a cordless phone system that also works with my blue tooth cell phone. It takes over my cell phone calls when I get home so I do not have to carry it all over with me. I just plug it to charge till I leave again. But I wanted to expand the expandable phone system so I looked in to a couple of the hand sets that go with the set I bought. Well this one not only was compatible but also was rugged out doors type hand set I could use when I garden. I was always afraid of splashing my old phone. But this one is made for it. So I all the goodies in one hand set.

This handset, and the KX-TGA930T, are as far as I know, the only two handsets that work with the KX-TH1212B Panasonic Link-to-Cell Expandable Bluetooth-Enabled DECT 6.0 Phone System. This handset is notably (but not significantly) heavier and feels larger than the KX-TGA930T. The KX-TGA930T are the exact same handsets that come with the KX-TH1212B.

The buttons are all in the same place, so the phone operates exactly the same as the KX-TGA930T. I have not tried dunking it in water or hurling it at the walls, but my wife does take it outside/gardening/etc. We got one of these for that purpose, and it lives on the kitchen counter when it isn't traveling outside.

I have noticed no sound or volume difference compared to the KX-TGA930T. The Red circle and metal-grid graphic (just for looks, it's smooth to the touch) look nice to me but I do prefer the original KX-TGA930T since it is slightly lighter. They will not fit in each other's charging cradles so that helps ensure that the Kitchen phone generally remains in the Kitchen at least!

It pairs without any issue with the KX-TH1212B and stays that way, no issue with dropped calls or disconnected handsets. Range does not seem any different between the two handset models.

A big Pro for me is the batteries are rechargeable AAA's, 2 per handset. You'll never have to buy an expensive proprietary battery. And, when you do replace the AAA's it comes with, you can use your choice of higher mAh ones like Eneloop or Duracell.
