I have owned Panasonic phones since 1986 with no issues. My last cordless Panasonic is still working fine, however, the battery died. Now I purchashed this new super cool phone with Bluetooth capabilities. As it is designed to do, incoming cell phone calls ring/connect into the Panasonic cordless phone. But, after I answered, there would be dead silence about 50% of the time. These were important business calls!

Panasonic admitted to a FIRMWARE PROBLEM and is sending a replacement. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEN - POINT THAT OUT WHEN YOU CALL THE SUPPORT NUMBER 1-800-211-7262. A SUPERVISOR WILL COME ON THE LINE AND OFFER TO SEND A NEW PHONE WITH A PREPAID RETURN TAG FOR THE BROKEN PHONE.

I'm sure that my rating will return to 5 star once the (fixed) phone arrives and proves flawless. At the time of this written review, it will take appromately 7 days to receive the new phone from Panasonic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Link-to-cell Radio Shack Has Recall & Repair Notice, October 7, 2008
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TH1211B Link-to-Cell Expandable Bluetooth-Enabled DECT 6.0 Phone System (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Do not buy until the connection issues have been resolved. Purchased when it first came out. Took it back due to failed connections. Radio Shack said, "Sure. We have to send it in for repair per notice anyway. Here is your refund. Next time you see it in our store it should be fixed and working." Still not in stores as of early Oct 2008 - that I can tell. A really cool idea. WHEN IT WORKS NOTE: When cellphone is linked to base unit you cannot answer an incoming call on your cellphone only the linked handset(s). Also "similar" BLUETHOOTH Panasonic handsets (3 handsets + 1 base unit $70 to $90 at Costco) WILL connect to the Link-to-cell Base unit (you do have to turn off your regular base unit)- but NO CELL item on handset menu. Meaning: You can get INcoming cell calls on these "additional" handsets - but you cannot call out on the CELL line via these "almost compatible" handsets, as they provide choices for "Line 1" or "Line 2" and not "Cell Phone."So pick additional handsets carefully. For me I just wished to able to answer the incoming cell calls anywhere in the house - so not a problem. Compatible phone list is on the retail box. DON'T wait for Panasonic support!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally able to get cell reception in the basement., December 1, 2008
By
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TH1211B Link-to-Cell Expandable Bluetooth-Enabled DECT 6.0 Phone System (Wireless Phone Accessory)
We needed a new phone for our basement, and noticed this one had Bluetooth capabilities, so thought we'd try it. In addition to a sleek looking, functioning phone, we now are able to get cell reception in the basement. There is a separate ring for cell service so it is easy to tell if you are getting a land line call or a cell call. We've only had the phone for about 2 weeks now, but so far we are extremely pleased with this product.

I found that this unit works well with newer iphones (G3)- but not the original one.

Originally I thought it was the unit - but it seems it was the older iphones

3.0 out of 5 stars As of Jan. 2009 - still drops calls, January 2, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TH1211B Link-to-Cell Expandable Bluetooth-Enabled DECT 6.0 Phone System (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This is a great phone with lots of good features. Unfortunately this is the third one that we've had to return. They STILL drop cell phone calls. So when someone calls you on your cell phone and you answer it with this phone, it appears to the caller that you hung up on them and wouldn't answer. Panasonic, for as good a company as they are, has TERRIBLE customer service. The only way that you can get a repair on this phone is to mail it to Panasonics repair warehouse in Texas. They will NOT guarantee that the one you receive back will work, so you may just be wasting your time and spending more shipping money for the same thing that you just shipped them - a broken phone. This phone is a great idea, and the call quality (sound wise) is great. However it's not ready for prime time until Panasonic gets their act together and fixes ALL of this phones bugs.

1.0 out of 5 stars good at dropping calls, May 24, 2009

I have had this phone for about 6 months. It often drops calls, losing contact to base unit. I tried disconnecting the cell blue tooth (the reason I bought the phone) to improve reception, but the problem persists.

Worst phone I have ever owned.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away from Panasonic phones!!!, September 17, 2010
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TH1211B Link-to-Cell Expandable Bluetooth-Enabled DECT 6.0 Phone System (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This phone does one thing consistently: drops calls for no apparent reason even when standing next to the base station. I don't keep track of exactly when I buy products like this but I will from now on. Panasonic customer service (accent included) says that the phone has an one-year warranty. So, they make a piece of you-know-what phone (Costco said that it was a great phone when I bought it) and only back up there product for one year even though the problem is widely known about. Good-bye to the not-so-good-buy; hasta la bye-bye Panasonic. My Uniden phone works great but only have one of the phones nowadays--they seem to go MIA. Panasonic customer service offered a 15% discount on a Panasonic phone if bought directly through Panasonic's telephone number. No thanks! 15% off of their price when Amazon and others sell it for less. No Deal! Good-bye Panasonic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good idea - BAD product!, September 15, 2010

When I bought this product, I thought it would be a great idea - I could leave my cell phone charging and answer in any part of the house.

HOWEVER - and a big however - it simply doesn't work. It will constantly drop the calls in the middle, even if standing right beside the base. This is not a range problem nor batteries. It simply disconnects the handset from the base. It doesn't matter if this is a land line call or a cell phone call. It will always drop the calls, even if just a short call ordering a pizza.

As I can't change it, I will now buy another base and hopefully the handsets can be used with that base also.

Don't waste your money. I am most disappointed with Panasonic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware, October 30, 2008
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TH1211B Link-to-Cell Expandable Bluetooth-Enabled DECT 6.0 Phone System (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I spent hours linking my cell phone to the base. After I finally got linked could not figure out how to get the handset to work. Everytime I placed a call went though cell phone with nothing happening on the handset. Would suggest that Pansonic change instuctions so you can figure out how use the thing.
