Multiple vendors list this replacement filter as being compatible with DCF-1 and DCF-2 vacuum cleaners. DCF-2 vacuum cleaners require a plastic cap at the bottom of the filter to keep dust and hair from entering into the vacuum cleaner itself and obstructing air flow. This specific filter does not come with a cap. The result is that your vacuum cleaner will lose suction every 30 seconds and begin emitting a very loud high-pressure air noise from the back of the unit, requiring shutoff of the vacuum cleaner and manual removal of the hair clog every 30 seconds.

Either make sure that the part you order has a cap included, or keep the old cap from your original filter. Otherwise, you'll find yourself re-ordering a replacement cap from the manufacturer.

Don't get burned like I did trying to save a few dollars. I didn't even notice the bottom cap was missing until the vacuum clogged up and had no suction. The caps come with every kenmore filter I have bought in the past...

These filters work but at first I thought they weren't going to fit. It is a very tight fit and is kind of hard to get them in.

Contrary to the hype posted on this page, we have ordered 6 of these filters and each and every one has come with the end cap. All caps have popped into place on the filter with relative ease and the filter itself has worked flawlessly. It is a NO-BRAINER to buy this filter from Amazon versus going to Sears and shelling out $19.99 for the EXACT SAME FILTER plus the added honor of paying STATE SALES TAX(if your State is one of those who think you just have to much pesky money). Thanks but no thanks, we'll be happy to continue purchasing these from Amazon from here on in. It's good to be a Amazon Prime Member.

I bought this filter for my Kenmore vacuum, used the part number out of the handbook and this filter came up.... But when I got the filter and tried to install it, it did NOT fit! So, this was a complete waste of time... Not sure, I compared it to my old filter and this one is about a 1/4" taller which causes the vaccum to have a gap when put back together and not create enough suction!

Filter were shipped fast, packed well, work fine and orice was great, product was received with return instruction and paper work/invoice etc.

I have ordered this replacement filter in the past and it didn't come with the cap. However, it seems that they are including it now, which is awesome! My old cap was getting pretty worn and now I don't have to worry about it any longer. My family is satisfied with this purchase. :)

It didn't screw in as easily as the factory filter that came with the vacuum. ONce it was in place, it is a perfect replacement and is of the same quality of a filter as the orignal version.

I have kenmore vaccuum which takes a DCF2. This came with a button to push on the bottom of the new filter which made it an exact replacement for the DCF2 plus the new one is washable! Do need to push a little hard to get it to install. Other than that, the filter is a awesome product at a much reduced price than the original.

This Panasonic/Kenmore Upright HEPA Vacuum Filter fits my older Kenmore upright bagless vacuum. This is my second time purchasing this replacement filter. Each time, at the beginning, it's a little tough to get the canister to completely/correctly seal. Meaning that the spongy part of the filter is a little too spongy and makes the install require extra strength to keep the canister aligned in the grooves. After a couple of uses - you can go in and readjust & you'll find the filter to be a better fit. This is the only reason I didn't rate at 5 stars.

I am thankful to have a fresh clean filter that is inexpensive and gets the job done.
