The Story of Panasonic

Konosuke Matsushita visited America in 1951 to pursue his dream of expanding his Japan-based electronics company to the U.S. market. Matsushita Electric Corporation of America, best known today by its Panasonic brand name, was incorporated in 1959. Initially, Panasonic made its way into the U.S. with electronic devices such as radios and televisions. In 1970, the Home Appliance division was established, greatly expanding Panasonic's product line. In 1973, the first Panasonic microwave oven was introduced into the U.S. market. It wasn't long before personal care and vacuums joined the lineup of innovative products. Today, Panasonic is dedicated to creating products to improve lifestyles, offering a wide variety of consumer electronics, including rice cookers and bread makers, shavers, blood pressure monitors, powerful upright and canister vacuums, and energy-efficient air conditioners and air purifiers.
