Vacuum cleaner belts aren't expensive, but they can be hard to find. If you are going to get replacement belts, it pays to get the genuine Panasonic ones. You won't save enough on a generic one to make it worth the risk. A generic one may work fine, but why bother?

These genuine Panasonic belts come in a two pack, and one belt should last a long time. When you install this belt, you should notice that it's many inches smaller than a stretched out belt you may be replacing. A new belt will allow your vacuum cleaner to brush better and clean better. It's good to have a spare in case somebody vacuums up a small item that jams the roller and burns up the belt. If you find after a few years that your machine is under-performing even with a new bag, it might be time to change the belt anyway. At under a dollar a year on average, a belt change could be money well spent.

These come in a factory sealed plastic bag with the instructions printed on it. Some reviewers have commented that they did not get the genuine article described, but keep in mind that there could be dozens of sellers, and all are required by Amazon to send the exact item described, which is the one in the pictures I added. Most third party sellers are honest and will send you the exact item that Amazon would send you, so buying from a third party should not be a risk. But if you have Prime, getting belts at Amazon's price will be a bargain even if you need the belts right away.

I also received non-Panasonic belts, without any packaging, although it was labeled made in America. However, I had ordered these because I wanted the bagged Panasonic brand, like the picture showed! This is out-and-out misrepresentation!

They are belts. What else is there to say. If they burn out in a month, I will complain, but that seems unlikely. They look and feel identical to the original belts. My only hesitation in getting them was in figuring out if they fit my older model vacuum. With these, the photo of the bag was clear enough that I could read numbers of the vacuums that they work with. I could read my model on the bag in the photo.

Original review, 12/27/2013: The way the original listing was worded, I thought I was getting original Panasonic belts for my vacuum. However, I was misled. These are cheap imported knock-offs. They fit, but they are not high quality rubber like the original equipment Panasonic/Riccar belts. I have had problems with non-OEM belts in the past, especially when turning the roller off: the motor will burn a spot in the belt and weaken it. We'll see how long these last, but they certainly do not have the quality feel of the originals. They'll do...for now...but all I can say on these is "Buyer beware."

Update, 11/17/2014: these belts barely lasted at all. Had I not been misled by this dishonest seller (who should be banned from Amazon), these would have lasted a couple of years, if not more. I installed the first of these back in March of 2014. But by late August, I had already gone through both belts, and both of them failed due to shredding. I've had them weaken or develop burn spots in the past, but never had them shred. I've since gone to the local vacuum shop and purchased two GENUINE Panasonic belts, which are apparently what I paid for from this dishonest seller but did not receive.

Granted I'm only out a couple of dollars, but that is not the point. If I purchase something listed as "Panasonic," that is exactly what I expect to receive. The photo is of a genuine Panasonic product but that is NOT what you get here. More shoppers on Amazon need to start complaining about these misleading product listings and dishonest sellers--too many of us are getting burned.

These were suppose to be packaged genuine panasonic belts . What I received were two non-packaged inferior aftermarket belts. Not nearly a strong as the panasonics.

The item is described as Genuine Panasonic replacement belts (2-Pack) and the picture on Amazon.com shows a Panasonic bag. What I got is an OPEN item, not Panasonic packaged product. The fact that what is shipped is not what is described is sufficient to rate this purchase as zero stars (if that were an option).

The old belts do stretch and begin to slip. This is one inexpensive maintenance job you shouldn't put off. If you smell a burnt rubber smell, you are 6 months too late. The old belt was MUCH longer than the new one. Don't put it off.
