Great thermo pot,

My relatives have an equivalent Zojirushi model. The only difference is this one only has a 6 hour delay whereas the Zojirushi has a longer delay setting. It actually seems like the Panasonic insulates and holds the heat in better than the Zojirushi as it doesn't seem to reheat as often. I'm sure it would save a few pennies in power costs if I could delay it a little longer while I'm away at work all day but it isn't worth almost double the price to get that. That's the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I actually like and prefer the nonstick interior and unless you've got hard water, you don't have to clean it as often as they suggest. It's over a month for mine being used every day and it doesn't look any different than when I bought it. I figure I'll clean it with lemon juice every other month.Note that you don't have to buy the special cleaning solution. Make your own citric acid with a half cup of lemon juice concentrate mixed in with the water and then run it through the cleaning cycle. If you use fresh lemons make sure you get the pulp out. Update 3 years later in 2012: Still working great. I clean it about twice a year as our water is already softened and we filter it before pouring into the boiler. One time after not running a cleaning cycle for over a year it stopped working in that it couldn't tell when to stop heating and overheated. I ran it through a cleaning cycle and it was fine after that. I suspect the thermometer had some calcium or other deposits built up on it.

Great all-day alternative for the electric kettles,

For Valentine's Day, my fiancee wanted something to get her up and running with tea early in the morning. After looking at a number of other electric kettles and pots, the Panasonic/Zojirushi style pots caught my eye and seemed like an interesting alternative to the teapot styles offered elsewhere. After a few days of use, this has turned out to deliver on all promises made. It holds about 4-5 healthy cups of hot water. The alternatives for boiling, super-crazy-hot, green tea setting, and baby-milk setting (all digital) are more than you'll find on all but the most fully featured carafe-style pots. At the end of the day, however, distinction should be made between the teapots and this. The teapots boast the ability to boil water in under 5 minutes. This model takes around 20 minutes to get to a boil: not much better than a stove-top model. However, for an energy efficient and convenient way to have hot water on hand all day, it beats the pants off other solutions.

This is very good product. Same quality but 1/2 of what I would pay for another brand (Z), I been their loyal customer for over 20 years. But when the $ is issue, you got to find a better way to spend it.Update after one year of usage: This pot still works great! Occasionally hard water build up can use solutions to clean, or just use lemon juice, it works the same if not better. I like it after cleaned with lemon juice, the water taste better and cheaper then the acid you have to buy. I am very please with it, some people complaint that takes a long time to boil, it's the same with this kind of pots, it's the price you pay to have hot water whenever you want. I have no problem with it.

Last winter, I discovered Puerh tea. To discover Puerh is to drink Puerh all day long; and Puerh cannot sit in water, it has to be steeped freshly each serving or it will become bitter. I was boiling water a million times a day; then I found an old vacuum bottle and boiled water half a million times a day. This winter, I figured I had paid my dues and started looking for an electric kettle. Even better, an appliance that would not only boil the water but keep it hot. Better even than that, an electric thermal unit that would maintain an almost boiling temperature. The Panasonic Electric Thermo Pot does all that and even gives you a choice of temperatures to maintain, because some teas need to be steeped cooler and others hotter. This unit is easy to use and doesn't take up much space horizontally or vertically. And compared to the Zojirushi model of the same size, the cost is super reasonable. My brand new pot arrived promptly and well packed. I put it to work immediately and it has performed continuously and perfectly. This was an EXCELLENT purchase and I would recommend it to anyone!

The device is practical and provides warm and hot water in a consistent way. It also provides a useful delay for not being at home for 6 hours. I would be better programmable or at least 7 or 8 hours.I only provided 2 stars because before the year went by the interior layer got rusted at the bottom. Now, I am hesitant to use because of this. The bad part is I realized this after the warranty was over.

First off I love my Panasonic Thermo Pot, it works perfectly, quickly & reliably. But I have two things I would like to see changed on future models. The lid removal is a little tricky, I'm always afraid I'm gonna break/snap the plastic as I try to get it to release. Also, there are a series of lights that flash or don't flash depending on what's going on with the machine. So I had to read the owners manual to know which meant what. If those two things were changed it would have gotten 5 stars. Panasonic is & always has been great stuff. Product is made in Thailand not Japan just for your information.

I love this Thermo Pot.I used to boil hot water (added a bit cold filtered water) or used bottle warmer to make a warm formula for my newborn, but not anymore with this. It saves me so much time to make formula. Not mention during the night when baby is crying for milk. It's also very good for making hot tea or hot coco at anytime in a cold winter. The size of the pot is another good point. It fits to a small kitchen or a big kitchen if you don't want your counter is filled stuff.

I use this at work on average four days a week to brew a pot of tea while on shift (I scam the carafe from the coffeemaker). I've had this since early November 2009.The unit has a nonstick interior chamber which is not removable. There is a small dome-shaped mesh filter (stainless steel) that sits at the bottom of the pot that is removable for cleaning. A maximum fill line is indicated inside the pot as well. The electric cord is not attached to the pot. The non-plug end of it is magnetic. Just hold the magnetic end near the electrical receptors and it will snap right into its proper place. When I'm not using the pot, I keep it in a lower cabinet in the break room. I fold the cord and keep it in a nearby drawer. I find the pot very easy to use. It really does require reading the user's manual, lest you overthink how to use it. As with another reviewer, it takes my unit about 20 minutes to bring a full pot to a boil. It does need a little "settling down" before the unit allows you to dispense water. I have had the pot dispense with low pressure a couple of rare times, though the pot is full. Also, as the pot gets closer to empty, the dispenser will also not give a lot of pressure. Since I basically empty the pot all at once, I don't take issue with that. There is one thing about this pot which has me taking extra steps. There are two small holes on the underside of the lid which lead to the steam vent. They hold water after I'm done using the machine. I like to have it as dry as possible before I put it away, so I grab a couple of paper towels, roll them thinly, and stick them into the holes to dry them out. That's not a design flaw or defect, really. That's just what steam does! For as reliable as this is, and for as well as it serves my needs (I really like this thing), I don't mind. Highly recommended.

Great Thermo Pot,

I wanted to wait until I used this for awhile before I gave it a review. This Thermo Pot is great! I timed it at about 15 mins for heating up a batch of water. It stays nice and hot all day, and holds a nice amount for two tea drinkers. Now and then on a busy day (when my son decides to have cup noodles) we have to refill it, but for the most part it lasts us the day. Operating it is very easy as is cleaning it. I have never used the delay setting, so I cannot comment about that. It is now April 23, 2012. The thermal pot is still cranking out the hot water just as it should! Worth every dollar I paid for it!!

We bought the Panasonic NC-EH22PC water boiler in February of 2009 and are overall satisfied with the performance and price. We used to own a Tiger 3L water boiler which worked well also but was much more expensive (over 2X). The Panasonic unit we bought has only a 2L capacity but it's engough for our use and is also easier to clean. I would recommend this model if you want a small, reliable and relatively inexpensive electric water boiler.
