Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Perfect for large home gatherings or business meetings, this electric thermo pot boils and dispenses up to 4.1 quarts of water for serving tea to a crowd. The pot automatically boils a full container of water in 35 minutes when plugged in. However, it is equipped with a microcomputer for more automated and electricity-reducing operation and can be set to start boiling 6 hours later as well. A "keep warm" mode automatically kicks in after boiling and holds water at temperatures of 140 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 to 4 minutes (ideal for baby formula), 185 degrees Fahrenheit (for Japanese tea), or 208 degrees F for 13 to 14 minutes (for coffee, tea, or noodles). For tap water that is high in chlorination, the pot has the option of setting a longer boil, which reduces the taste and amount of chlorine in the water. Hot water is safely dispensed through a spout on the front of the unit at the touch of a button. For safety, a locking lid ensures that boiling water won't spill if the pot is accidentally knocked over and overheating protection shuts the power off automatically if the unit is set to boil with a dry container. The plastic exterior is cool to the touch to further reduce the chance of burns. Other features on this unit include an easy-to-read water level indicator on the front, a rotating base, and a plastic carrying handle. The thermo pot has a nonstick interior, which makes it easy to clean, and is covered by a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

This product is great. I have tried several of these air or jar pot water heaters and all of them have been very convenient. I particularly like the capacity and design of this model. The quality is also very high. The multiple temperature settings are a new feature to me and one that I appreciate having. I would recommend this Panasonic model highly to anyone for home or office.

I really didn't think I would find something that would hold this much water and keep it super hot all day long. It is so wonderful for my mom, who is vision impaired, since she can see the red light(at least I think she can)and the buttons are big enough for her to press on her own. The unit can be filled up in the morning and she can have hot tea all day long without having to fill or spill anything herself. It's really great! So easy to use, an almost blind person can use it!

Oh I forgot to mention.... Because of the distance from the water spout to the counter I decided to put one of my small souffle dishes underneath(upside down), since it has a flat bottom. Its the perfect height to put a cup on top so it sits just under the spout. Now there's no need for my mom to actually hold the cup while she is pressing the button and no splashes at all. You can still just put the cup on the counter, but may get a tiny bit of splash. Or if you are able to just hold the cup with one hand and press the button with the other it works fine too.

While it looks large (and it is), this pot only takes about as much room as a tea kettle on your counter. And unlike a tea kettle, you don't have to wait for the water to heat up. I use it for tea, coffee in a French press, ramen noodles, and any time I need hot water in a hurry--which is more often than you think. Additionally it's well made, and in a year of full-time use, has not given me any troubles whatsoever. I recommend it without reservation.
