Panasonic's NIC77XR steam iron features a curved nickel-coated stainless-steel soleplate for smooth ironing and a pushbutton steam/dry selector that lets you select your settings with the push of a button. Its powerful jet-of-steam/self-cleaning function removes stubborn wrinkles, and also helps clean the steam vents on your iron. Its anti-calcium system reduces deposits in the vaporizing chamber to prevent clogging in the steam vents. Panasonic steam irons have two settings: "regular", which is ideal for heavier fabrics, and "light", which works best for touch-ups. For steaming curtains or clothes on the hanger, the iron can produce steam while held in an upright position. The detachable water tank snaps off the base of the iron for easy filling and emptying. It also can be removed for enhanced maneuverability to reach tough areas like cuffs and sleeves. The water level can be seen with a simple glance, so you know when it's time to refill. With the three-way auto shut-off system, the mercury-free electronic sensor automatically shuts off the iron after 10 minutes if it is left in the upright position, and after 60 seconds if left unmoved on its soleplate or if tipped over on its side. This iron measures approximately 10-1/2 by 4-1/3 by 5-1/8 inches and carries a 1-year limited warranty.

This is the first iron that I've ever had that stands up to my ironing needs! I iron almost every day and I just love this iron! It is very easy to use, for example filling the water tank is so easy..you can remove the water tank and fill it, or fill it while on the iron! I love the retractable cord feature, and the "Curved Nickel-Coated Stainless Steel Soleplate" glides like it's on air!! AND if you want STEAM this iron is for you!! One of the most important features to me is that a steam iron is suppose to steam, AND THIS ONE DOES A GREAT JOB!! I'm very pleased with this iron and I've gone through quite a few. I've bought expensive and inexpensive models and this one is a great value!! I've had this iron for 3 months now, and it preforms as great as the day I received it!!

I'm happy with all the features on this iron. It does everything it should without causing more problems. The retractable cord is great, though a little extra length would be nice.

I've only had this iron for one month but my husband and I love it. We use it approximately 3 times a week. We were very pleasantly surprised. We had looked around at other irons but was afraid to purchase a Rowenta because of all the negative comments I've read. We love the retractable cord, the water reservoirs being a separate unit, and the nice way it steams clothes, when I need it. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who needs and iron. The price is pretty reasonable also.
