5.0 out of 5 stars Mine is Fine!
I've had this Panasonic microwave for about 3 years now. It still works as well as the day I bought it. I use it daily, mainly for jobs like reheating, cooking frozen meals, thawing food, and baking potatoes.

The interior is 14 inches square with a 13 inch turntable, and a little more than 8 inches high. It's easy to clean. If you need to clean off spatters,...

2.0 out of 5 stars Good... For Only 1.5 Years
I got this microwave a year and a half ago. It worked well initially, heating items up faster than others. But last week, the microwave died on me, after only 1.5 years (which is very poor performance for a microwave- many have been known to last 10 years). The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because when it worked, it worked well. But I would not recommend...

5.0 out of 5 stars Mine is Fine!, November 20, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic NN-H624BF 1250-Watt 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven, Black (Kitchen)

If you need to clean off spatters, the trick is to put a wet sponge in it first for about 45 seconds. This sterilizes the sponge and the steam softens the gunk, making it easy to wipe off

The only downside is that you can't turn off the beeps that signal the cooking has stopped. It beeps 5 times, every time. I knew this when I bought it, but had hoped that the reviewer who pointed it out was wrong. He wasn't!

If you are coming from an older microwave, be aware that this once cooks much faster and hotter than you might be used to. Don't burn yourself!

This microwave is absolutely incredible. It has a nice design, sufficiently large interior and because it no longer has the large and heavyweight components (like the older microwaves), I can move it by myself, plus it is smaller overall, so it doesn't take up as much counterspace. The best thing about this microwave oven, however, is what you actually purchase it for - speed in cooking your items. It makes the very best popcorn you can get anywhere in 2 minutes or less - all of the kernals are popped and nothing is burned (it doesn't get much better). Water boils in 2 minutes and the defrost feature is unsurpassed. Last, but not least, the cost cannot be matched. If you search for microwaves in the price range that this one sells in, you would be hardpressed to find another with this amount of power, size and number of features, especially in a brandname such as Panasonic.

It is amazes me some reviewers think a microwave should last forever and maybe I am just jaded because I thought that way about my Maytag Neptune - but then we paid $1000 for it, whereas, you are paying less than $100 for an absolutely terrific microwave. The only difference is if it breaks, it is less expensive to just purchase a brand new microwave, rather than have it repaired. . .seems like most small appliances have gone that route. If you want to pay alot more for a microwave, you most certainly can, but it won't last any longer, so you will be out alot more money when it dies.

I couldn't pass up the sale price of $49.99, 50% off clearance. My old microwave was still working (22 years old Tappan Spacesaver - woodgrain finish!), but I've replaced my other appliances with black and stainless. I tried it out on popcorn last night and it worked perfectly, and is very quiet compared to the old one, both running and the finish beep. As mentioned in another review, it does beep 5 times, but it is so quiet and quick that you barely notice it. The old Tappan was loud running, and the finish beep was one long, lound obnoxious 'siren'. We usually just stood close by so we could turn it off the last couple of seconds so we didn't have to hear it. So, the new Panasonic is a huge improvement already. It looks really nice, too. The body is a matte black metal, and the door and face panel are shiny plastic. I'm sure it won't last as long as the Tappan; face it, they really DON'T make things like they used to...we're living in a disposable society. It's a bargain though, and if it lasts for a few years I'll be happy. I'll add another post if it bites the dust before then!

December 2008 update! Still working as well as it did on day 1 in 2006...so far, very nice little machine!

This mike works great! The buttons are intuitive, the clock is easy to set, and it cooks evenly.

Ever have popcorn kernels in the bottom of the popcorn bag - even though part of the bag is burnt? Not with this microwave! This will pop all of the kernels and almost bust the bag open with evenly-popped pop corn! It is so perfect for reheating dinners also! Just click the "Sensor Reheat" button and it will warm up your food until it starts steaming! WOW! I love it!

The product is good but it the light is not on when the door is open. It would have been really good if this option there. Most microwaves has this option.

5.0 out of 5 stars Luv This Microwave, March 3, 2007
This review is from: Panasonic NN-H624BF 1250-Watt 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven, Black (Kitchen)
No complaints. I like that the light bulb is off when the door is open. That way I can leave the door open for hours and let some fresh air inside the microwave... without wasting any electricity to power the light bulb.

This is a very powerful microwave. Compact on the outside but very room on the inside. Well worth the money.

I bought this Microwave Oven few months ago with Amazon free shipping. It was a bargain if you know how costly to ship this heavy item.

So far it has been perfect for me perfect size and performance. Very good and on the mark sensor heating and cooking.

1.0 out of 5 stars Panasonic microwaves are junk!, December 29, 2006

I had my Panasonic microwave for about 2-1/2 years, when it just stopped working. Turns out it's the inverter, which they only cover for one year, so I'm out of luck. (I have also seen complaints on other websites about inverter problems with Panasonic microwaves, breaking down with minimal use.) I had to go back to using my trusty 20-year-old Toshiba microwave, with no turntable, but it STILL works! I would have been happy if the Panasonic lasted 10 years, but I barely used it, and I think it should have lasted a LOT longer than it did. I will never buy anything made by Panasonic again!!
