3.0 out of 5 stars Premature Death
I bought this Panasonic because my sister had hers for 10+ years. This one didn't last much over 3 years. I am so disappointed.

I had to cut back the cook times because it does cook faster. It does heat evenly and was easy to clean. It still looks brand new.

In my other microwave the skin would turn black like burned, not in this microwave!! I cooked Chicken in a Mc Cormick cooking bag. It is cut up chicken with gravy. In my other Microwave oven the gravy would be very thick. In the Panisonic it was like gravy made on top of the stove. My daught loved it so much I gave her the Panasonic and I will be ordering one for me now!!I was not sure if I wanted a 1300 Watt microwave, not sure how much time to take off of my recipes I was use to. I used the same time and my meals were perfect!! We cooked cup cakes. They were perfect, better than out of a regular oven. The price is low!!!! Thank You for giving me a chance to tell what a wounderful Microwave Oven by Panasonic Invertor is!! Thank you

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply beautiful!, July 16, 2002

I loved the clean simple look of this microwave in the picture. And reality didn't disappoint. It's beautiful and ya gotta love the stainless steel. By the way, the door is stainless steel (with glass), but the top and sides feel like some other material that's been powder-coated to a silvery stainless look.

It's very easy to use. The instruction booklet is very thorough, to a fault .. the amount of detail is almost scary. But on the back there's a quick-start guide that's very easy to follow. Plus when you push a button, the display scrolls a message telling you what to do next. I love the display: it's small but the numbers/letters are big and bright, and it has this very cool arrow scrolling across the bottom during cooking. At the end of the cooking cycle it even scrolls "Enjoy your meal". Hehee

The inside is very roomy, well-lighted and has a 15" glass tray that rotates. It's easy to clean. It's not too loud....I'm glad I got this one, as the 2.2 would have taken up way too much counter space.

All in all, I love it and highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Genius Sensor, December 7, 2002
By A Customer

This review is from: Panasonic NN-S762WF 1.6 Cu. Ft., 1300-Watt Microwave, White (Kitchen)
If you haven't bought a microwave in a while, and don't know about this Geniun sensor cooking function, it is the greatest thing since packaged microwave popcorn.
You just tell the oven what you are cooking and it figures out how long to cook. It has sensors that gage how hot and steamy the food is, and stops when the food is steamy and hot enough. So, I'll have no learning curve time trying to figure out how long this microwave needs to heat stuff as compared with my old wimpy one. Of course, you can still set the timer yourself if you want to know the future with certainty- when the heck is it going to beep!!
Speaking of the beep, it is quite tolerable. My last one was so annoying that I wanted to stand there and stop it with 1 sec left just so I wouldn't hear that sound.
This is the biggest microwave I've seen in a while. the 2.O cf was bigger than my tv, so it looked a little rediculous. The 1.6 is plently big enough.
And the scrolling text is a scream, especially when it's scrolling "Hot Dog" like the walking venders at a baseball game: Ho-o-o-o-o-ot Do-o-o-o-og!
I was originally excited about the Inverter Defrost thing, but after reading the manuel, I decided my expectation of microwave defrosting was unrealistic in general- there is going to have to be stand time after something comes out of the oven, no matter how fancy the defrost cycle name is.
I love this big oven and am seeking out the largest microwave safe dishes available now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but Dangerout, December 14, 2007
This review is from: Panasonic NN-S762WF 1.6 Cu. Ft., 1300-Watt Microwave, White (Kitchen)
We had this microwave for several years and it worked fine. Last month, it started operating when we opened the door. Needless to say, we now have a different microwave. I am in the process of trying to contact Panasonic about this.

2.0 out of 5 stars was great...til it quit working, November 11, 2006

I really expect more than a year and a half of use from a microwave. This one started doing some very strange, unnerving things, like turning on when the door was OPENED. Couldn't shake the image of microwaving my hand some morning when I was half asleep. That was enough to scare me into sending it to the recycler. Bummer too, because it was a very nice looking appliance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, January 3, 2005

Unlike most microwaves, the inverter technology actually lets you set the heat level, it doesn't cycle high power on/off (listen to your current non-inverter microwave and you will hear it doing this). I really like this feature as it seems to cook the food more evenly.

This microwave has a lot of power. I've had to back off the power for most of my recipes. There are very few things I cook at full power.

I haven't experimented with the automatic sensors, I've just been timing the cooking myself. The automatic sensors require trusting the microwave to make the right decision which is hard for me to do.

As for the "bubble face" another reviewer mentioned, if they had read the manual they would have learned there is a thin protective plastic film covering the display that easily peels off to fix that problem.

I've had this microwave for over a year now and would definately by another one or one like it.
