Never thought I'd buy a microwave on Amazon sight unseen. I'm completely satisified so far. Shipped in 2 days and arrived in perfect condition. Price was unbeatable!!! Installed in an opening that already had a hood microwave, so installation was easy. The features are very intuitive. I haven't open the operation manual yet and have been using it without any problems. The exhaust fan is quite powerful on high turbo speed. Better make sure the ductwork is strong..WOW!! It's a little noisy but on high its not too bad..low is very quiet. That much air moving in a duct will make noise. It's quiter than the old Kitchenaid hood and more powerful. I'm not sure about the new inverter technology. I mostly use the oven for defrosting, heating liquids and frozen meals. Works great so far. I don't think I will be cooking a chicken or roast in it??? The construction is solid for a microwave in this class. I was impressed on the build quality. The 16 year old Kitchenaid I replaced was of similiar construction. That one was built solid!! THe wife complained of finger marks on it. I think any surface will have that. Easily cleaned with a little dish soap. The finish was different than the photo. It was actually better looking than I thought. The stainless is shiny and the beige color on the buttons is nothing like the photo. It's a very suttle brown and doesn't stand out like the photo. I see how this oven earned the Good Housekeeping seal. It's constructed well and has great features and an intuitve menu. Very satisified.Update: 11/7/10....still working great!!

Agree on everything from the last reviewer. Love it a lot, and it looks great. The color of the buttons is a bit off than the picture. It actually looks even better.BEWARE!! Somehow mine has scotch tapes on the light bulbs. Smell something was burning, but could not find anywhere. Then, one of the lights went out within an hour after we installed it. Now we have to buy a replacement bulb. They are cheap anyway, so don't even bother to call for the warranty. Will replace it with a 15W, instead of 30W. Too bright even have it on as "night" mode.

We have had this for about 4 months now and have had no problems. One thing that should be understood about this model is that it has more than one way to set the time, not just the dial. You can use the dial to set the time or use Sensor Cook, Sensor Reheat or Quick Min. You can also adjust the sensor times with More/Less. Many of the things I cook require less than a minute. In that case I just hit the Quick Min button once and wait until I think it has been long enough and stop the cooking. If I wasn't going to stand there and wait the dial is also quick for setting the exact time needed. Turning it slowly makes the time change in small amounts. Turning the dial fast changes the time more for the same amount of turning. A quarter turn could be anything from 5 sec. to over 2 min., depending on how fast you turn the dial. Once you get the feel for that any time is quick to set with the dial. If you were going to heat something for 5 min, you could just hit the Quick Min button five times, or turn the dial to 5 min. Either is easy. The dial and Quick Min can be used together but this is not obvious and you could easily be unaware of this feature. It requires stages (see next paragraph for stages). Power is set by a button. (There is another model that has two dials). Setting power and then time with with either the dial or Quick Min is a stage. You can set more than one stage at a time, up to 5 stages. You can use Keep Warm and set the time for it as a stage. For Keep Warm you don't need to hit the power button to start the stage. Keep Warm does not have to be the last stage. If your fist stage is at full power you can skip hitting the power button for it and go right to the Quick Min or dial. So, if you know that 3min and 24sec is the perfect time for something you can hit Quick Min 3 times, Power once, turn the dial to 24 and hit start or just turn the dial to 3min and 24sec and hit start. If you want something to cook at one power for a time, then stay warm for a time and then cook some more at another power, set the power and time for stage one then hit Keep Warm and set the time, then set the power and time for the last stage and hit start. That easy. Alternately you could let it rest by setting the power to 1 (hit it 9 times) for the second stage. It beeps twice between stages if you need to turn something over, stir or mix something in at that time. It cooks much faster than our old one. It also cooks much more evenly. No more brussels sprout ice cubes in the middle of a bowl of hot brussels sprouts. If I had known it could make so much difference I would not have waited for the old one to break. I believe this is due to the inverter type of power. Also due to the inverter type of power supply it has much more space inside without taking up much more room than our old one which had little space inside. I installed it with help from my son. it took some modifying of the cabinet. The size and space were fine. The mounting holes are different and I reinforced the way the cabinet was hung because I could see that the old unit had started to pull it away from the ceiling and this unit is heavy.

have used for a few months now. unit looks much nicer than picture. unit works great, controls are different but easy to use (rotary knob used to change options and adjust time). best feature is exhaust fan. you are wasting your time unless you vent outside (imo). the exhaust is quiet on low and med., loud on turbo but pulls out huge amounts of air.only cons- followed install pattern and holes were off just enough to not fit (not my first install). night light burned out after a few days

We've only had this installed for a couple of weeks but so far it's pretty good. The pros: -it looks really good, much better than in the picture -it's fast, faster even than my old Panasonic which was the exact same power -the sensor cook seems to work pretty well but I haven't tested it a lot -the fan has tons of power and lots of power choices which is good because on super turbo it sounds like a jet taking off but it's great when I've got a lot of pots going on the stove, keeps the humidity down completely -the light works well on the stove area beneath The cons: -the door release button isn't strong enough and I have to push it in just the right place to open it -it's noisy (but I wonder if we didn't get it quite level) -you set the cook time with a dial and it goes up in 10 second increments after 1 minute and it can be annoying. I prefer a digital touch pad. |
