In my opinion, the folks who engineered this microwave knew just what they were doing, the auto-sensing feature has worked flawlessly everytime I've used it, cooking leftovers perfectly! (not too hot, not too cool) and I love the pop-out adjustable flywheel control.
Dang! this thing is even smart enough (when the clock is set) to tell you to enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner (neat little tactile feedback in the display)
If you are looking for a very nice microwave oven which is powerful and has some neat features - and this fits your sizing requirements, I would highly recommend it.
I recommend this oven highly!
Thing I like about it:
The sensor reheat is nice. I generally gets the food hot throughout, and you don't have to keep guessing about how much time to put in to get the food hot. Be careful to use a heat resistant container.
I like (but not love) the setting knob. I guess that it just takes a little getting used to, but I don't really think it's any better or worse that a regular number pad
Thing I don't like about it:
This is my pet peeve. It doesn't do microwave popcorn well. I've tried using the popcorn feature. It pops about half of what it should. I've tried using the timer, and while more will pop that using the popcorn feature, it invariably burns. Yes, I read the instruction book, and yes I'm setting the bag size correctly. I've even tried different brands of popcorn and it makes no difference. Don't know why this is, but it just is not good at popping popcorn.
Hope this helps.
I bought one of these about 2 months ago to replace an old dying POS I had for about 8 years. Instantly fell in love with this thing. The auto heat and reheat features are amazing and while many have complained they could not get used to the dial for setting time, I found it to be amazingly fun to use. It's not as easy as hitting one button but i'm not so lazy that an extra 3 - 4 seconds will ruin my day.
The look is very clean and the weight is amazingly light.
I purchesed this one to replace the first one I bought as my furnace died and Ihad to get a repair man in. While he was here he knocked my 1.5 week old Microwave off it's shelf and it ruined the unit. It did still work however the door would not seal properly and the keypad was a mess. So while I am still in a fight to get him to pay for the damages to my first one, I had to get another as I found being without a good solid unit is not easy to do anymore.
