Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

With a 1-1/5-cubic-foot capacity and 1300 watts of power, this family-size microwave oven provides quick and easy meal preparation. The unit's automatic 13-1/2-inch turntable ensures even heating, while its one-touch sensor cooking adjusts power levels and calculates cooking times automatically, making reheating and cooking a variety of foods easier than ever. A pulsing delivery of very low microwave power keeps food temperature at a constant level--without overcooking; the improved keep-warm menu now includes five items, so foods like stew, gravy, and desserts remain warm in the oven until they're ready to be served. Other highlights include Inverter Turbo Defrost for thorough defrosting, five-button and flat-panel controls, a four-digit display, 10 power levels, five multi-stage cooking options, and more/less control, as well as a popcorn key, Quick Minute, delay start, and a timer. The countertop microwave oven measures 11-7/8 by 20-3/8 by 15-15/16 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

3.0 out of 5 stars Viewing Display is a big Problem, otherwise fine, August 5, 2008

This review is from: Panasonic NN-SN667B 1.2cuft, 1300 Watt Black, Inverter Technology (Kitchen)
This microwave is otherwise a five-star, but the display drops it to a three-star.

Problems:

1.) The display is polarized, so you can't view it from an angle above 45 degrees. This is not a problem from several feet away, but standing next to the microwave on the counter I need to bend down to see the display.

Until I have the microwave memorized I will always need to bend over to set the microwave. This is not a problem on my old Panasonic.

2.) As noted in other reviews the interior lights only when the microwave is on, not when the door is open.

Good Aspects:

1.) This replaces a 15 year old Panasonic microwave of the same size which was making noise, although still working. This microwave is almost twice as fast, nearly silent, weighs half as much, and is good looking.

2.) After years of using Panasonic moisture sensor cooking I would never buy any other brand until they can replicate this feature.

I would return this microwave except it appears all Panasonic microwaves currently have the same type of display. Hopefully Panasonic fixes this problem in future models.

For $130 I'll use this microwave until Panasonic replaces this horrible display on future models.

Panasonic NN-H965BF Luxury Full-Size 2.2-Cubic-Foot 1,250-Watt Microwave Oven, Black

I own the predecessor to this model, the H964. It's the 2nd Panansonic microwave of this size that we've bought--in just 3 years. The first lasted 1 1/2 years and had to be repaired once. The second died three weeks after the warranty period. After literally 8 calls to Panasonic customer service (asking for the serial number, calling back with it, etc etc.) they agreed to at least cover the cost of a repair estimate (they eventually paid for the entire repair cost).

The problem was that the fuse had died. The authorized repair facilitiy told me that the only microwaves they ever get for repair are Panasonics; he said the problem is that to reduce their weight, they use smaller parts, like the tubes, which can't handle the load for long. He also said that their fuses don't last.

The repair person recommended either Sharp or Sanyo as much longer lasting. I checked the weight of a similar-sized Sharp and saw that it weighed about 6 pounds more than the Panasonic--presumably because some parts are heftier.

When this newly-repaired Panasonic dies again, it will be long out of warranty and then we'll try our luck with a Sharp. Replacing a microwave every 18-20 months is not my idea of money well spent.

4.0 out of 5 stars panasonic NN-SN667B microwave, November 1, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SN667B 1.2cuft, 1300 Watt Black, Inverter Technology (Kitchen)
This replaced a similar sized Panasonic microwave oven that had a problem with the door button getting stuck or popping out. So far it seems to work very well. It's quieter than the previous mmodel and a little smaller for outside dimensions while the interior capacuty is the same as the old model. The inverter technology seems to work well for defrosting, much better than previous microwaves I've owned, and the sensor reheat and cook work very well also. My only complaint is that to use the sensor cook you key in a number from 1-9, but nowhere in the instructions does it explain what number corresponds to what type of food you are cooking. There are less expensive microwaves out there with similar features except for the inverter technolgy, but in my opinion it's worth the extra.

1.0 out of 5 stars Panasonic warranty is the worst, April 10, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic NN-SN667B 1.2cuft, 1300 Watt Black, Inverter Technology (Kitchen)
We bought this microwave, and it worked for 8 months. One day we got a broken sensor message, and the microwave never turned on again. No problem, we thought. It is practically new and is still under warranty. We contacted Panasonic the next week, got approval for the free repair, and took it to their recommended service center. It is now 5 months later, I have spoken to Panasonic at least 10 times, and they have not sent the repair part. Panasonic finally offered to buy us a new microwave, but they have never sent it. When I call customer service, I repeatedly get the run around. I will NEVER buy a Panasonic microwave again. It is the single worst experience I have ever had with a company.
