Amazon.com Review
This average-sized microwave oven is perfect for reheating leftovers, defrosting meats or vegetables, or even cooking a main dish for the family. The oven measures 20-3/8 by 11-7/8 by 15-15/16 inches but is still fairly compact considering that much of that space can be attributed to the 1.2-cubic-foot interior. The oven operates on a powerful 1,300 watts for quicker cooking and defrosting and an attractive stainless-steel front and reflective door that looks appropriate in a professional-style kitchen.
A few improvements and conveniences move this fairly basic microwave up to the front of the pack. As part of Panasonic's Inverter Technology, the oven incorporates a linear power control for even heat distribution so frozen macaroni and cheese doesn't get hot around the perimeter and remain cold in the center during cooking and frozen chicken breasts don't cook around the edges during defrosting. An automatic reheat button gets leftovers tasting as delicious as when they were first prepared and a quick minute feature adds another minute on to give food a little extra cooking time. Another major innovation is a warming and simmering feature that delivers low-temperature heat to keep food such as pies, casseroles, or gravy warm without overcooking them. And, popcorn addicts will love the special button just for cooking microwave popcorn to perfection. This microwave oven is covered by Panasonic under a one-year limited warranty while the Magnetron tube has an extended warranty of up to five years. --Cristina Vaamonde
