Its three-line digital comb filter minimizes dot crawl and cross-color interference. Velocity-modulated scan slows down across the black and white portions of the video signal, sharpening dark-to-light transitions and picture edges.
The unit's high-quality DVD player does double-duty as an audio CD player that plays MP3 files from CD-R and CD-RW for hours of audio enjoyment. This combo unit can also play home-recorded MPEG2 video that's been saved on a DVD-R using a Panasonic DVD-Video recorder. Additionally, the DVD player offers smooth-motion scan in five speeds (up to 100x), picture zoom, and auto switching field/frame still. Home theater-ready, the PV-20DF62 has the appropriate outputs to help you enjoy surround sound audio. When it's connected to a Dolby Digital or DTS-decoding audio/video receiver and a six-channel speaker system, you'll enjoy exhilarating digital surround sound.
A front-panel audio/video input (with composite- and S-video) affords easy hookup of camcorders, gaming consoles, or other devices. The unit includes an earphone jack, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, on timer, and wake-up alarm. Onscreen icons and front-panel cursor keys and menu control make setup and operation extremely simple. It also comes with built-in FM radio and a multi-brand tower remote. Finally, Panasonic has imbued the PV-20DF62 with its Ready-to-Play feature: as soon as you plug it in, the combo automatically sets its own clock and local TV channels.

I have the 27" without the DVD player built-in. The picture is great. One downside of these pure flat screen TV's is that they are H-E-A-V-Y. Make sure you get a heavy-duty TV stand that is rated for it's weight or you may find this weight crashing down on you or a loved one. Personally, I prefer a separate DVD player so if it goes bad, you don't have to haul this heavy TV into the shop. Compare to Sony Wega.
