The PV-20DF63's built-in DVD player delivers brilliant, high-resolution video images--twice as sharp as a VHS tape--and theater-quality audio. In addition to watching a blockbuster DVD video, the combo plays home-recorded MPEG2 video that's been saved on a DVD-R disc and JPEG images that have been taken with a digital camera and saved to a CD or DVD. It's equipped with Dolby Digital and DTS outputs so you can connect it to a surround-decoding audio/video receiver and surround speaker system for mind-blowing home theater sound.

This set's DVD player features fast, smooth-motion scanning (in five speeds up to 100x normal), picture zoom, and auto switching field/frame still. Depending on the content of the disc, it's possible to select from up to eight different language soundtracks, 32 subtitle languages, and multiple camera angles. The PV-20DF63 uses a Tau PureFlat picture tube, which delivers a distortion-free picture from corner to corner and provides outstanding quality with precise, brilliant color reproduction and extraordinary clarity. Its two-line digital comb filters minimizes dot crawl and cross-color interference.

In addition, the TV/DVD combo has a built-in FM radio and incorporates the "ready-to-play" feature, with which the combo will automatically set its own clock and local channels as soon as you plug it in. A tower remote control and a rear jack pack consisting of a stereo analog audio and optical digital audio output are also included.

After about 6 hours of searching on the net, I decided to buy this TV for the bedroom, and it's worth it for the DVD alone. It saves all those cables and trying to find outlet space in the bedroom, something which is not usually a problem for a living room entertainment center. All of the features work as advertised, and the picture is sharp.
My old TV received 2 channels (both of them NBC) with the help of an antennae booster, and this TV gets 11! Of course, 4 of them are in Spanish, but it still feels like a jump to cable.
Do not be fooled by my VHF/UHF dependence into thinking that I am not tech-savvy. The reason I don't have cable is because I am usually busy on my computers and don't have much time for TV, other than listening to it in the background.
I have, and do, recommend this TV to everyone in the market for a 20" set.

I received this television as a gift and after only viewing 3 dvds, the player skipped and stalled out, quitting to operate. Very dissatisfied that it happened and that Panasonic only backs up it's products for 3 mos (parts for 1 year, labor not). It seems that they are producing disposable televisions. Poor experience and not the first with Panasonic. I would not recommend doing business with Panasonic. As long as people continue to put up with poor quality, it will be in the market.
