The Panasonic PV-C2780 27-inch combination TV/VCR provides an easy way to watch and record your favorite TV programs and videos. Thanks to the PanaBlack picture tube, the contrast-degrading effects of ambient light are reduced for crisp, precise video. This model also has an FM radio with auto-scan, as well as an alarm clock and a timer that can be set for up to 90 minutes and will automatically shut off the television if you fall asleep. It can also turn the TV/VCR on as a wake-up call.

Outfitted with wireless audio, the Panasonic PV-C2780 creates an instant home theater. The FM receiver allows you to send the audio of your movie or show through the speakers of your home stereo system without connecting any wires. The Panasonic PV-C2780 has a number of additional useful playback features, such as MTS reception, which stands for Multichannel Television Sound, a technology that allows reception of the analog stereo soundtracks offered on current films and TV broadcasts. The MTS system is capable of delivering a second audio program (SAP), which lets a TV station present programs and movies translated into another language).

VCR Plus+ lets you easily record programs by keying in their respective numerical codes, listed in TV Guide and other program listings. Index search allows you to locate specific places of your movie or taped program, while program end search is especially helpful for those tapes that have several shows and movies on them. Commercial skip allows you to record programs without interruption.

For added convenience, the Panasonic PV-C2780 has two separate 181-channel tuners, so you can watch one program while taping another. A built-in V Chip helps parents monitor what their children are watching, and the time stamp feature will display the station, program, and time with the push of a button. Gold audio-video outputs and inputs are conveniently located on the front panel and can be used to hook up a camcorder or video game.

In case the power should go out, the PV-C2780 has a 24-hour power backup and automatic clock set that will save you the hassle of figuring out how to set the time. And, for quieter moments, a gold headphone jack is displayed on the front panel. An illuminated, multibrand remote control is included.

This is a great buy! Not only do you get a TV/VCR combo . . . but the TV is actually in STEREO! Few TV/VCR combos have this feature. They are mostly mono. I highly suggest this for a bedroom, dorm room, bathroom, kitchen, family room, billiards room, art gallery, sauna and even a TV/VCR room!

I love my TV. It is a quasar but it is the same TV shown here. It has lots of convenience features like "nite" which make the picture easyer on your eyes in the dark. It also has warning lights on the front that, yet not obtrusive, display timer record, on-timer, and record, This TV has a sleep timer and Commercial Skip which is really useful for anyone. It even has a prevous channel button that knows what you were watching last, not necessarily your last channel. It has timer record that is very easy to set up and I never thought I would use it when I bought this TV but it is great for shows that you miss. It also has a "Tape Position" button that shows, on a time-line, what part of the tape you are at. It also has an auto-setting clock (you tune to PBS and press "Set-Up Time") and an index selection option (you will understand when you get one)and multi-language support for french, spanish, italian, german, and english. This is a great TV with thousands more little convenience features that you never thought you'd need.

Reasonably priced, hassle free entertainment system that works well if you're not hooked on DVD. The sound and picture are relatively good, the FM stereo is an added bonus. The VCR is basically idiot proof. As a moderately sized screen TV it fits the bill as a unit that won't dominate too much space in your living room.
