If you listen to AM, this radio is ok but the reception on FM could be better. It is especially prone to interference from strong stations so if you live in an area of strong reception you'll have a hard time trying to receive distant stations. I had a Panasonic radio like this about 10 years ago and loved it. Reception was much better, probably because it used Toshiba circuitry, which I've found makes a great radio. This model, in comparison is made by Sony instead despite the name on the front. Sound quality is great, providing you can pick up stations. If you live in an area with weak reception this radio will work fine but in case of strong reception I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

What an outstanding product! For simplicity and convenience of design it is truly outstanding. It is an inexpensive model yet its construction was remarkably sturdy; good acoustics. I appreciated the large on-am-fm switch in front and the easy-to read dial; many were the nights I availed myself of this little unit, reaching over groggily in the dark to flip it on in the dark for news, music, sports or talk thereby easing the occasional sleepless night. I regret that it is no longer in production; wish Panasonic would bring it back to market...

This is a great simple portable radio. I've had mine for about 12 years and it has been used every day. I prefer to use 4 rechargable AA batteries and they last quite a while before they need to be replaced.

A great radio to have a around when the power goes out but I use it every day around my house and when camping or working outside.

A very smart portable radio. If you are a person looking for a radio with a simple way to use and handle, this is the set for you. You can be assured that the sound is very good and clear and the reception is one of the best you can get. I had mine for a very long time and it is still functionable. So get one of these portable radios and carry it with you wherever you go and stay informed all the time;)
