5.0 out of 5 stars could be more comfy, but sound is superlative
buy if you want options for wearing 2 ways...and bear in mind they require some pressure on outside(i wear a cap over them to press them down) to truly utilize bass-capacity; this said: 'can make the garbage sound inherent in an ipod sound stong-ballanced; if used on a more formidable sound-source, no pressure needed and sound is extraordinarily clear/strong

3.0 out of 5 stars standard sound
I bought these to replace a pair of Sennheisser hd 205's that got stolen. They don't feel cheap, and they actually feel very durable. Well, after a little over a month the cords have been tugged many times. The biggest annoyance from these is that if you wear glasses they will get caught on the headphones. Its because they have these weird clips on them that do get hooked...

the little plastic wings that let these hang on your ears hurt your ears if you aren't wearing the headphones behind the neck. also, there is no padding on the head band part, and considering the weight of these things, it does put pressure on your skull after a while. i definitely like them better than regular headphones with the foam cover over a hard plastic part, but i probably would have been better off with the regular big ear-cup headphones, even if they do look a little overkill for working at my desk.

Well, after a little over a month the cords have been tugged many times. The biggest annoyance from these is that if you wear glasses they will get caught on the headphones. Its because they have these weird clips on them that do get hooked on to the legs a lot. That can be very annoying, and other than that there's not much else to the headphones. Its decent if you are on a budget.

5.0 out of 5 stars #1 for Bang-for-Buck, November 24, 2009

I'm on my second set of these. The first ones I bought lasted a good few years and that was with me treating them awfully (shoving them in bags etc). So far my second set has outlasted my first.

The ear clips looked very sharp and frightening at first sight, so I just popped the speakers off, removed them, and snapped the speakers back on. Nice and comfy now.

As for the sound? I AB-ed about seven pairs of headphones. These came in second to a set of quite expensive Kenwood headphones. I'm actually quite shocked that headphones can sound this thick, this present, this clear, for $29.99 (how much I paid). The lows are deep and boomy, the mids are crisp and full, the highs are shimmery (maybe a bit too much sometimes, play with your EQ settings a bit). You can really hear each layer of music even if it's as thick as the black metal I tested them on. I'm trying to find a place where I can buy a few more pairs of these.

As with anything, test a few pairs out (if you can), and make sure you test these too.

The plastic hooks that allow you to wear this behind the head are very annoying if you want to use these as regular headphones. They fit OVER the soft leatherette cushions of the earphones...which makes them uncomfortable to wear..I had to snip them off with sheers..They are a bit more comfortable now but still not a nice fit..Sound is not bad...not great...If you can get them for under $10...worth the money if you plan on cutting off an integral part of the unit..which will now allow one to wear them behind the head..
