These are the BEST phones I have ever used! I have a small head and traditional on-top-of-the-head phones were always slipping. Tried neckband phones and had the band sticking straight out. Along with my small head I also have tiny ear canals so the in-the-ear type never worked for me. Tried these clip-ons and LOVE them! I wear glasses and do not have a problem at...

2.0 out of 5 stars asymmetric NOT a good thing
The sound quality of these headphones - great. But someone please explain to me why asymmetric cabling is a good thing. personally, i do NOT see the advantage of having one cord hang abt 4 inches from the earpiece while the other hangs about 12 inches from the earpiece. this makes no sense to me, yet other brands are touting this asymmetric system of theirs as something...

Along with my small head I also have tiny ear canals so the in-the-ear type never worked for me. Tried these clip-ons and LOVE them! I wear glasses and do not have a problem at all with the two earpeices. The phones are very light and comfortable. The sound quality is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Comfortable!!!, October 7, 2007

I just bought these and absolutely LOVE THEM!! I have tried dozens of different types of headphones. The in-ear buds make my ears sore (and I've tried many types of these buds), the headband style slides around and doesn't stay tight on your ear and the neckband style is just plain irritating while it bounces up and down on your neck and also the piece around the ear is irritating. I didn't opt for the high-dollar professional headphones, because they too have the headband and they're usually too bulky. These are absolutely perfect!!!They're very comfortable-the ear piece doesn't "squeeze" your ear, the piece against your ear doesn't slide around but also doesn't "squeeze" your ear - you don't even notice you're wearing them. And, they have decent sound quality. The left cord is shorter than the right cord, as mentioned in another review - but, honestly, this (to me) isn't even an issue...the cord's hanging there wether it's 4" or 12" long! LOVE 'EM, LOVE 'EM!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set for the price.., December 9, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic RP-HS43 Clip-On Headphones with XBS® Extra Bass System (Black) (Electronics)
Picked a set of these up for a birthday gift and was received well. The sound quality is amazing for the asking price. Works well on a PC and home stereo too! CONs: The design is not suited for running. If you're an audiophile looking for top quality pass these by, but over all they are well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty nice., January 31, 2008
This review is from: Panasonic RP-HS43 Clip-On Headphones with XBS® Extra Bass System (Black) (Electronics)
I bought a set of these a while ago, as in over a year ago. For me, thats a long time for these to last. The audio quality never really diminished or anything and could handle all the different mp3 players I've had. The reason I'm now retiring them because the wire must have broken inside of the insulation. Still, considering the trauma they went through with me they did great. Far better than any of the other ones I've had.
The wire thing is weird. I found it annoying on many occasions, but it wasn't really enough for me to stop using them. All you need to do is to pull the wire back so that it doesn't rest against your neck and you'll be fine.
Basically, if you want something you can beat the crud out of, these are fairly good. Great price too! Just watch pulling on the wire and you'll be fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good For YOU, Not For ME, January 20, 2007

This review is from: Panasonic RP-HS43 Clip-On Headphones with XBS® Extra Bass System (Black) (Electronics)
Ok, yes possibly the fifth headphones review of the month, but I kinda had to replace the Earhugger headphones because...ok, I'll say it, I stepped on them. Kinda sad, I was really starting to like them, until I stepped on them and now the left side no longer works.

So I ventured into Wal-Mart. Wow, terrible selection of earbuds here. They had a ton of the kind that goes over the ear (not the full size kind with the earcups). They were out of stock on my Sony MDRE828LP earbuds. They no longer sold the Sony h.ear or the Sony w.ear. The only earbuds they had were made by Koss, and that really doesn't count since they were in a combo pack with a pair that was over twenty dollars. The only thing left were these pairs of Pannys. Whatever, they were really the only thing there and if I didn't like them I could easily return them since it was Wal-Mart and buy from Amazon.com. I did just that.

I hate these headphones for a reason that some of you may find odd, but make others turn away from these for good. They leak, a lot, actually terribly, to the point where you can wear the headphones the opposite way and still get most of the sound. Some people on here might be using these for home use or excercising outside in a non-public enviorment, and chances are if you like the clip headphone design you'll likely be impressed with these. But if you are using them at school, in a library with speechbooks, or in a gym, you really shouldn't buy these. I do think it's Panasonic's fault for not covering the opposite side of the speaker correctly, but who knows, these might work for you.

The sound quality is like most headphones made by Panasonic. Average bass with good mids and great clearity. I tested these a bit and they do sound pretty darn good given the slim price tag. The bass isn't earth shattering, but it is at least adequate and does not seem to overpower, even at higher volumes. The mids are pretty good, to be picky a little harsh in the 2k-4k range, but not bad for the price. The golden part of the sound is the clarity, this is an excellent headphone if you're into pop, rock, or fuller music, since they have a clear soudn that will bring out detail into your music. Overall, above average sound with good clarity.

I also found these much more comfortable than many other clip headphones than I tried. The hook is adjustable, so you will always ensure a good fit and will never press too hard on your ears. These aren't for heavy running but will stay on for the most part. They look a bit cheap on the Amazon picture for some reason, but don't worry, these are very stylish and will look good with whatever you're using with their black/chrome scheme. Also the cord is asymmetrical, so when you take off the left earpiece it will not fall to the ground and instead be at shoulder level. An earlier review complained about this. All you have to do is travel your index finger on the right side cord and stop when the headphones start to pull off. Then take that part of the right cord and tape it to the left cord. Then you will get the traditional Y design.

For cost these were only ten bucks at Wal-Mart. To me that is a good price for these. For only ten bucks you will be getting a pair of clip headphones that have good sound quality and are comfortable and stylish to be used for home use or in a non-public enviorment.

Overall, a good pair of ear-clip headphones but were designed for someone else in mind. They have good sound and are comfortable to wear for hours and look nice but they leak out just way too much sound. The verdict is not out yet if these are a return or not, they may be a good pair of headphones if my computer ones (pricey Sennheisers) die out. If you are using these in a non-public enviorment this is a good buy, but if not I'd avoid these and clip headphones in general and go with an earbud design that will deliever similar sound but not distract others. 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars I highly recommend the Panasonic RP-HS43 Clip-On Headphones, October 13, 2009

This review is from: Panasonic RP-HS43 Clip-On Headphones with XBS® Extra Bass System (Black) (Electronics)
I highly recommend the Panasonic RP-HS43 Clip-On Headphones with XBS Extra Bass System for personal use with any product utilizing headphones. I use the headphones at work and the ease of removing one earphone to carry on a conversation while still listening to music, book-on-tape, etc. The lightness and comfort of the headphones is a definate plus - after a few minutes you forget you are wearing anything. The clarity and bass are superior and the construction is high quality. I have yanked the headphones off accidentally on numerous occassions and did not damage the cords, headphones or my ears. I also find that being able to clip the headphones to the collar of my shirt when not in use is also a plus.

Satisfaction is guaranteed with the Panasonic RP-HS43 Clip-On Headphones with XBS Extra Bass System.

I was looking for RCA's e-clipz - I really love them, but I just can't find them anymore. So I bought these, and I got surprised: they are even more comfortable (I use them in the office, not jogging, biking, etc.), and they also sound great, compared to other headphones in this low price range. I might use a little extra bass, but overall I'm satisfied.
Note: I paid less than $10 for it. Don't buy it for more than $30...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best over-the-ear earphones, February 6, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic RP-HS43 Clip-On Headphones with XBS® Extra Bass System (Black) (Electronics)
I just ordered two more pair of these headphones to replace my previous favorites. Why?
* Great sound - these are the first smaller-than-a-breadbox phones I've had that deliver superior bass as well as high-note treble without static or unintentional reverb.
* Great fit - I can keep these on my ears for hours at a time. Over-the-ear phones typically offer one of two methods to keep them on one's ears: (1) hangers - you drape them over the ear and hope for the best and (2) clips that snap on to your ear (like a large earring), which is far more comfortable. Panasonic offers a third design combining the best of these two: you hang the earpiece and then allow the hinge to close - you end up with almost no pressure on your ear, yet an extremely snug fit.
* Great noise-filtering. I don't hear any ambient noise from a nearby highway nor the stereo from my college-student neighbors. I have to keep my phone nearby even with the volume down low because these headphones are that good. (Note: more expensive noise-canceling phones are better in some situations because they also reduce sound when there's no music.)

I loved my previous favorite, Philips SHS4701 (or SHS4700) Ear clip, but these Panasonics are easily the better phones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Quality., January 13, 2010

Amazing, these headsets sound better then ipod headsets, though they are not as loud. The earpeice feels really comfortable, and the quality is better then an ipod headset, sony headsets, and various other headsets I tryed. The only problem that might make people mad is the right earpeice being longer then the other. Thats good for sharing music with other people though, so it all worked out fine.]\

Finnally, the price is so cheap, for such good headsets, that it is amazing. I would recomend this tremendously.
