I cant believe how good these headphones sound for the money.....WOW!
I have a pair of more expensive Sony MDR7506's, and these headphones sound almost as good for less than half the cost. Dont get me wrong I wouldn't say they are neck in neck with my Sony's. However they do produce a very nice sound that is crisp. I would say the bass response is just as good as my Sony's. They do go pretty loud as well without distorting which is a nice bonus. How loud depends on the recording you are listening to though. The better the recording the better they sound, although this is true of most headphones. They are pretty light headphones so you wont get a neckache after listening to them for a few hours. Build quality is very good, I would say excellent for what they cost. About the only thing I dont like is that they do make you sweat around your ears because of the vinyl ear pads.

I think that even audiophiles would have to agree that these headphones are an excellent value compared to any others in the same price range.

If you are looking at these now and wondering, should I? Dont hesitate for you will not be disappointed. I sincerely thought that people were probably overhyping these things until I put them on my head. I mainly use them for listening to my ipod, however I have used them to listen to movies as well and they do equaly as well in that arena. I'm actually considering buying some of the other colors.

When the sound from my speakers are turned up loud i need something to block out the exterior sound so i can monitor my second channell. [...]

These headphones are great! They just work. You forget about having them on. That's the sign of good technology. The wire is not too thick or flimsy and not too long. They block out just enough environmental noise to let you focus on the music without feeling scary-isolating. The only problem with these headphones is that they don't stay adjusted. You put them on and they slide down and are too loose. I modified mine by squeezing the metal slider wires together with a pair of pliers. If you squeeze them close to the bottom of each slider it will bend the slider just enough so that it tightens the adjustment and the earpieces stay put. It probably voids the warranty though, so make sure you like them before doing this.

Bottom line: these are the best headphones I've ever had as far as sound (better than my Grado SR-80s) and comfort (way more comfortable than my Sennheiser HD-280 Pros). Oh, don't forget to "burn them in": leave them overnight with music playing slightly louder than comfort level.

Great sound, a little bass heavy, but if you have any EQ adjusments on the source equipment, you can get really even highs and lows. The one big problem with these is the size of the earcups. They are too small, therefore after a short period of time they become painful to wear and (for me) generate a headache. I do wish they had gone with a larger "can" because they really do sound great.

Love these headphones! They are lightweight and fit comfortably; the sound is fabulous; and provide some noise canceling even when I'm not listening to music. I am so pleased, and the price is fantastic.

I was getting ready to really write a scathing review on these headphones. I bought these headphones on clearance for half price, and even though I paid such a paltry sum, I was ready to judge these as $40-50 headphones that they charged for them when they first came out. The minute I put these on, I was hit over the head with a strong boomy bass notes from the trance track my iPod was last playing. After listening to them for a few minutes, I was ready to relegate them to the drawer foreer as Youtube use-only headphones. As a headphone enthusiast, I already have a collection of decent headphones that I rotate through (headphones are like tools, depending on the music, the place, environment, or equipment being used, you have to choose one that fits the situation). I was hoping that these would be great knockaround headphones, that I could leave on my workplace desk permanently without worrying about somebody running off with them (i.e. expendable).

So despite the fact that I think the bass is too strong, I did spend a lot more time with them going through a collection of songs.

My verdict?
Comfort: these are circumaural headphones that surround rather than press on the ears. They don't clamp too hard but are still pretty firm, and the headband looks like it's easy to bend to lessen the grip. The plastic earpads do get sweaty, but they help create a sealed environment that helps reduce the music leaking out as much as iPod buds, or most other headphones supplied with MP3 players.

Build quality: these seem average. The cable is a bit stiff. They creak a little as you handle them, the retro styling is cool. Nothing stands out as being a deal breaker. The cable does trasmit a thumping sound right up to the earcups if it bumps against hard surfaces so beware if you intend to use them in high movement activities.

Sound quality: there is a trend toward excess midbass, probably around 50-60Hz, and at times it can be pretty distracting from the mids and highs. You can really hear this on pop songs, or anything with heavy bass. The bass isn't especially deep, and the bass has a slight one note sound to it. I guess there are some people who may find this trait an improvement over the standard iPod earbuds since the sound is pretty full bodied and has a lot kick compared to the sterile sounding iPod earbuds. The midrange tones sound slightly hollow, and lacking in body, as if the singer is singing to you while standing in a large closet. There is definitely a bit of detail missing in the mids or highs but still not too objectionable as the headphone does convey most of the frequency range better than many other budget earphones. There is sufficient shimmer in the highs that I don't feel like I need to reach for the cotton swabs to clear the obstruction. The soundstage (placement of the performers) is pretty constricted, like all the performers are in a small room. Am I being too harsh on these headphones? Maybe, since my normal reference headphones cost $300. But to put it in perspective, all of the other headphones I enjoy more cost more (or a lot more) than these, the cheapest that I've recommended before being the Koss Portapro and the Sennheiser PX100 which are twice the price. And I haven't yet heard any full size headphone that costs $20-30 that sound as competent as these, with the exception of the Sennheiser HD201 which was also quite enjoyable, but different in many ways. So I guess I will still recommend these even though the bass character is just too excessive for me. The one other thing I noticed is that if I wear these with my thick frame glasses, the bass emphasis nearly goes away completely, so these headphones rely on the seal to your head to get their bass. With my big head, these headphones do clamp my head firmly, so maybe others with a smaller noggin may find the bass more reasonable

So are they wroth $20 that I paid? Yes.
Are these worth the upgrade from iPod earbuds? Yes.

For me, I will probably use these as gaming headphones, I don't really enjoy them for music. I will probably go back to my Denon D1001 for music listening at my work even though I had hope these could be a cheaper/more expendable substitute at my workplace.

I give these a B- for sound quality overall, B for value, A- for looks and cool factor. Considering the price I paid....4 stars. But only 3 stars if I paid full price for them because ultimately, I prefer other headphones even if they cost a little more, but they offer a better improvement over the headphones that came with your MP3 player.

These look good, feel great and sound awesome. They don't have an enormously long cord, but an optional extension. the cups seal pretty well and block a decent level of sound, almost too well my ears sweat! I can't hear the music on someone else's head which is good.

A smart-looking headphone with great sound. Audiophiles should look elsewhere, but the Panasonic retro monitor has crisp sound, great bass response, and comes in a rainbow of retro colors.

I've been researching headphones for a couple of weeks. I was debating between the JBL 410's and this one. I went out and bought both. I found the JBL's had alot of bass to them and seemed a bit delicate (especially the wire), and was uncomfortable after 10min. When I put these headphones, WOW what a difference! I didn't want to take them off. Just enough bass and just enough treble, and much louder! If your looking for headphones that are comfortable, sound great, looks good, light weight, great quality, blocks out the outside noise, and under $50,....well....these are the headphones for you.

I bought these for three reasons:
-I needed proper headphones
-I didn't want to spend more than $40
-They look cool

Well, I couldn't be happier with these headphones. They are smaller and much lighter than they appear in the picture, so that was a nice surprise. The sound is fantastic, and I've been finding myself listening to old albums again just to hear them through these headphones.

Also, it comes with a nice extension cord and plug adapter. I'm getting a whole new experience with my video games because of the extension. Highly recommended for home or portable use.
