The included 16 MB SD memory card uses a high-capacity IC chip. This technology allows you to record over old messages again and again with distortion-free clarity. The RR-XR320 can record a maximum of 150 minutes on the included card. This tiny recorder allows you to record at three different recording modes -- high-quality, standard play, and long play. Store and organize your recordings in nine folders, each with a maximum capacity of 99 files, for a total of 891 storable files.
This recorder features USB connectivity, making it a breeze to connect the RR-XR320 to your computer. The included SD Voice Editor Software helps you work with your digital files. Plus, with the files on your computer you can save, edit, and convert your recordings to be burned onto a CD-ROM or emailed as an attachment.
The advanced digital voice activation recording (VAS) feature actually stops recording during silent pauses, saving valuable recording time. The electret condenser microphone records with superb clarity and the built-in speaker makes it easy to review recordings. The RR-XR320 is also designed with an external microphone and a headphone/earphone jack.

Nice Device Poor Software,

This review is from: Panasonic RR-XR320 IC Digital Voice Recorder (Office Product)
The title says it all the recorder works well, but as a earlier review said it only has a 16mb SD card. The real problem is that for me, and perhaps I am alone, the software didn't work so I couldn't get my files downloaded to my comp. I am not sure if this is b/c XP is not supported or what. Also the manual refers to online help which either doesn't exist or is too hard to find.

RR-XR320 digital voice recorder.,
This review is from: Panasonic RR-XR320 IC Digital Voice Recorder (Office Product)
There is little I can add to the previous reviews. This recorder is exceptional. I love the one I have had for about 3+ years. One thing that has not been mentioned is that the recorder will not work with an SD card that has greater than 256MB of memory. I guess the manufacturer figured that was big enough. I could not be more pleased with my XR320. It does appear as though the recorder has been dis-continued, but that is the way of things. Perhaps this might allow you to get one at a lower price than MSRP. Rick

I acquired one of these about three years ago, and have used it ever since as part of my job as a radio journalist. In HQ mode, recordings made with the internal mic are, despite the 16 khz sampling rate, quite usable, although recordings made feeding line audio via the MIC jack show more of the low frequency response than do those with the MIC.Most useful, however, is the VCR function which, although only a one time record, allows one to set this in advance to a known source with ON and OFF times. I'm not sure if any other removable media recorder has this feature. I had no trouble loading v1.0 of the editing software -- it loaded easily to Windows 2000. I just wish the SD card format was supported by some of the main audio editing software such as Adobe Audition. Overall, highly recommended, although the fact that these are apparently not available anymore makes one think Panasonic may have dropped it from their lineup.
