CD synchro start helps record custom music mixes on cassette, and auto-scan tuning sets presets for you (12 FM, 12 AM) when powering up for the first time. And the unit even comes with a handy remote control to simplify operation from the comfort of any listening position.
The unit's acoustic separator cabinet keeps the right and left four-inch speakers apart, reducing signal interference to maintain clear sound. This setup also creates a resonating chamber for excellent bass response, providing the sound of a three-piece system in a one-piece unit. You'll enjoy crystal-clear digital radio tuning and XBS bass boost when the music needs greater low-end heft. The RX-D20K can run on either AC power (cord included) or eight C-cell batteries (not included).

While I have gotten some decent mileage out of this product, I must also criticize the lack of volume control on the remote. And just recently, after having owned it for about 2 years, I can suddenly no longer play CD's. I didn't abuse it, it just died.

I'm disappointed in two things with this particular unit. One is the lack of volume control on the remote (why bother having a remote?). Unfortunately no information is given ... about this. Secondly, the tuner preset/scan is relatively cumbersome, although some may like this feature. Sound is good, but I purchased it specifically for the remote (I wanted remote volume control) so I will be returning it.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but it seems that a lot of today's electronics are made to be disposable. I bought this for my daughter's 5th birthday as it had both a cd and cassette player. Overall it looked and sounded fine....for about a week. After that, the cd player just stopped working. I expect things to be a bit better built than this. It is very light, but seems to be built like a lot of today's stuff. It may be a good product, I wouldn't know as I promptly returned it for a credit.
