This compact unit is very well made in the Panasonic tradition and performs flawlessly. At 5W per channel it provides excellent sound without the boominess that some "boomboxes" have, to compensate for their other shortcomings. The remote control accesses most all functions of the unit, which is most convenient. The clock and station presets are maintained by seperate batteries so the main batteries can be changed without losing your settings. May also be powered by included AC cord. The manufacturer does not recommend the use of rechargeable batteries, without explanation. Bottom line, this is an excellent product that makes AM sound as good as FM. Get one.

I have had this for about a half a year now and I love it. I love the sound quality, the ease with the remote and the sturdiness of it. The one annoying glitch is this: If I listen to a CD while I'm falling asleep, the machine does not rest quietly when it is done playing. It almost sounds like the speaker shorts out until I turn the thing off or begin the CD again. All in all, though, it is a good machine.

My husband and I are very happy with our new Panasonic RX-D27 boombox with CD player. The sound quality is clear and full. We were surprised that such a small system could produce such nice sound quality. It would be nice to be able to individually adjust the treble and bass, but there are several pre-set levels to choose from. After experimenting, we found a setting that enhanced the type of music we prefer.

I looked high and low for an mp3 boombox, it reads mp3 data discs with over a l00 files great. I had a Koss which was junk. It could sound a little less bass but for the money its a value. It even has tape for those who still use that. I bought it for the mp3 aspect and am quite pleased with it, too bad it doesn't tell the name of the song/file playing. This is not the mp3 player the Rx-D29 model plays mp3s. Take note on that please!

I Researched all boomboxes and this has the best power of all, hands down...

Took it for granted Amazon would have the Best Deals. Not so , here with shipping the price is about $73.00. At ABT electronics, you get this product for $59, no shipping charges. Wish I could return ,but J&R says they will deduct $10 the shipping charge.

I bought this CD player after researching many other CD players. I was VERY impressed with the service from J&R World. It arrived the next day by standard shipping!
The CD player sounds great and it is a really nice looking stereo. I would definitely recommend it.

this is a great boombox!!!! i had it for a very long time! it has great sound to it and plays my cds really really good!!! if u r looking for a boombox this one is really really great!!!

The manufacturer's statement "Experience concert-like effects anywhere you go with the Panasonic RX-D27" couldn't be farther from the truth. The equalizer has four settings, but neither has good quality. There is absolutely no way to experience good rich sound from this product. I had a cheaper Phillips box that was much better. In addition, the design is not very pleasing to the eye. It looks like a blob of something sitting there. Don't buy this thing. I know what I'm talking about.
