The first thing you notice about this unit is the incredibly slick, clean design. It draws attention and admiring comments from most everyone that sees it. This particular unit is a bit wide, and you will need extra desk space for the front loading CD tray to retract. The radio reception is strong and clear (and in my case did not need the antennae to be unfurled). The overall sound of the system is very strong, I believe the other reviewer of this product may have received a damaged product. The radio presets are tuned via a dial which takes some getting used to. I would have preferred another dial for volume control rather than the +/- volume control button. The tape player works fine, except there is no auto reverse. The LCD display is clear and shows the time when the unit is turned off. I really do not use the remote control unit much as I keep this unit in arms reach.

Overall, I am very impressed with this unit. The design is especially appealing, but the function supports it good looks.

The front loading cd it's cool, the full logic tape it's ok, but the sound it's AWFUL,light bass,low volume, bad quality,distortion. I recomend you hear this box in the store and then you decide,( mine was a gift).

I was having trouble making a decision on which boombox to purchase. I decided to browse through one of the local retail stores one last time. I couldn't find anything with the same features as the Panasonic RXES20. Also, all of the boomboxes looked the same. I wanted quality and uniqueness. Therefore, I got on the internet as soon as I got home and went straight to amazon.com. I was happy to learn that there was still one-only one-boombox remaining. It sounds great and it looks good. I've had several people to ask me where I purchased it. They love the look and when I play it at my meetings, they love the sound as well. I'm so glad that I made the decision to purchase it.

This unit has great sound and features and is equivalent to the more expensive model from the same manufacturer.

This is a fantastic classic boombox. It looks like Starship Enterprise. It is stereo with enhance
wide stereo sound. Everything works including the remote. I love it.

I've had this for years, and now it's having problems, I'm hoping to dig up an old new one somewhere!
While the volume may not be loud enough for some uses, it's pretty good as a bedside stereo.

The Pluses:
-you can move the alarm time backwards, so if you have a job with varied hours like mine, it's easy to reset every day; you don't have to go forward 23 hrs. to go back one.
-no backlit clock (on every new player I've checked out to replace it, there's a clock which lights up the room at night, which doesn't work for those who don't like a nightlight to sleep!)
-the wakeup CD volume can be set, so even if I have quiet music going to sleep, the volume will be high enough to wake me
-the sound is pretty full; not tinny and bassless like many clock-radios

the minuses:
-I like to go to sleep and wake up with music, and if you don't put the player on "sleep" mode (you need the romote for this) to make it turn off, the alarm doesn't go on in the morning
-it doesn't get really loud (as I use this by my bed, I usually have it quiet and a foot from my head, so this doesn't matter to me)

I have tried out several new players, and they all fall short where this one has "pluses". sadly, the electronics industry doesn't tend to produce the same models over time, and electronics are made with a 5-year lifetime anymore (funny, my uncle's stereo from the 70s lasted for decades, but CD players don't seem to last very long; I have a half-dozen boomboxes with CD players that don't work anymore). That combined with the fact that the electronics industry seems to be producing ipod docks but hardly any other CD players, makes me look at my CD collection with worry these days.

Hey all you electronics fans- read this carefully before you decide to purchase this item. This appears to be a great little boombox- with the panasonic name and everything and all the features- like you get a remote with it. However, i've mostly bought Aiwa stereos and boomboxes my whole life and so in comparison to the quality of Aiwa which was all i really had to go on, i gave this product only 2 stars. Its ok IF your not concerned with crystal clear sound quality. And the other thing i didn't like is that it only goes so loud...and i wanted it louder! Remote was ok, but keys were fairly tiny & a little hard to see. I decided to ship this one back and compare Aiwa to sony, and although i love Aiwa, i found the best and most powerful sound i've ever heard from the Sony CFD-ZW755. You WON'T be disappointed, believe me. I am the biggest skeptic there is when it comes to quality and sound. I'd rethink this one if i were you.

I was at Circuit City, and only at volume at 26, and an employee came to me to turn it down. It is very compact for short shelfs, and is perfect for home. I totaly recommend this one to you! There is a better model of this to this one, the Panasonic Boombox- RXES25!!! it is not in stock right now, but i recommend you to get that one instead just because it is so much better

My daughter has had this boombox for 2 years. Never had one problem with it. The sound is GREAT. My husband wants one of his own now. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My daughter says it ROCKS.

I baught this machine and i found it great it has an excellent price and an excellent machine so if u r thinking of buying a boombox choos this and ull never ever go rong so plan to buy this with an excellent price just buy it have it see it know it and if u dont like it retern it back (if u dont like it i have nothing to do)
