We bought this based on a rating from an independent consumer reporting magazine. Hooked up all our components to this unit and we have been very satisfied with the results. The remote has more buttons for functions that I will never use, but otherwise it's a very solid unit with great sound output and the ability to handle all the audio/visual inputs we could throw at it. Unless you have some really exotic stuff, you should be pleased with this receiver/amp.

Sound freak here. When I move into a new place, and I do it frequently since I'm in the military, the first thing I look at is the layout of the family room and how my surround sound will fit in correlation to the TV and furniture. I've managed to piece together some impressive speakers over time to get my 5.1 surround system going exactly where I want it. The crazy thing is that when I first started buying my speakers a pair at a time I started out with this receiver back in 2003. I fully intended on getting a Denon or a Harman Kardon later on. Well, it's 2010, and the thing still puts out phenomenal sound, and I still haven't replaced it. I don't need to. Everything is hooked up via digital cables to the back. My Xbox 360, PS3, my TV, my Satellite box, etc. Everything sounds amazing, and our friends always have a hard time figuring out if the sounds they are hearing is coming from the movie/game or coming from outside. The ability to change volume of individual speakers is great. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is this receiver is approaching ten years of age, and I don't think I'll be replacing it anytime soon.

The product, even tho' used, was easy to install and works well. The item came much sooner than the expected delivery date listed on the web site.
