5.0 out of 5 stars Lives up to the Panasonic name...
Warning: One day I was out trying to find this system with the subwoofer, but could only find this- just the receiver and speakers. I thought, "Well, I'll just order the subwoofer separately, then." Wrong! The receivers are different per system. This one does not have the silver trim- no subwoofer out. Yep. Can't do it. Still, I settled for what just the two speakers can...

1.0 out of 5 stars Keep the manual close
The ak330 is anything BUT user friendly. Keep the manual close by, our you will never figure out how it works. Many of the functions are only available through the remote. So if it's not working, you're out of luck. The radio tuner picks up stations that are two states away. When we have our local stations on, the distant stations are so loud, that we have to turn the...

This review is from: Panasonic SC-AK330K Nitrix Series 5-CD Mini System, Black (Electronics)
Still, I settled for what just the two speakers can do for a while. Although 360W, there is very, very little bass, and certainly not enough to rumble anything. Yet, this is definitely the clearest audio I've heard. This is my first experience with 1-bit audio (MASH, for Panasonic), and it's kinda hard to describe. It's anything but a flat sound, such as heard through cheap headphones or wimpy car factory speakers. It has a grit that is just like if the person is really there. It's loud! Of course, to obtain this presence of music, a lot of hum is also present when there is no sound coming out and the system is just standing by. So, although bass was lacking, I gave it 5 stars for a wonderful achievement by Panasonic.

So if it's not working, you're out of luck. The radio tuner picks up stations that are two states away. When we have our local stations on, the distant stations are so loud, that we have to turn the radio off. We don't have that problem with any of our other radios, so there is something wrong with this Panasonic. We would not buy this set again. Panasonic's quality on all their merchandise has worsened during the last few years.
