For a CD player with decent sound with an iPod dock for a small to medium sized room, this piece will work. I really like the size of it (very compact, smaller than I thought it would be) and the design of it. It's very sleek and looks great in our living room. The remote control is also better than I would expect for a system of this size. And, considering how strangely difficult it is to find a CD player with an iPod dock at a reasonable price, I'm glad I have this.

I only dock it down a few stars because of the sound. The sound is average. Despite some minimum controls like bass and treble, the unit just doesn't produce a crisp, sharp sound. It can definitely fill a room, which is great, but for true audiophiles and stereo-quality sound, I'd advise to look elsewhere (and probably at a higher priced unit). My wife loves it and thinks it's great. I, however, can tell the sacrifice in sound quality. It's not bad by any means, just a few notches below the best out there.

It's also more difficult than it should be putting in and taking out CDs.

For us, in its particular room, function (size and design) wins out a bit over quality. When I buy a bigger home with multiple rooms, I'll upgrade to a more traditional stereo system.

So maybe the packing box is still in my office and I still listening the the first couple of albums, but I'm quite happy so far. The system required a minimum of setup and all of it was intuitive. Ok, maybe I had to skim over the directions for linking and paring it to my Droid, but everything else was a breeze.

The sound is pretty good. I can adjust the simpistic EQ along with the bass and treble to compensate for my upper frequency hearing loss. The volume is enough to rattle the windows and I'll be adding "Inna Gadda Da Vida" to my Droid as an "acid test."

I like this little stereo. I takes very little room, looks clean, and is jammed with feaures--plays CDs, AM/FM, connects to a variety of sources with Bluetooh, and has an I-anything (almost) dock.

Unless it shuts down or blows up within the next couple of years or so, it's a keeper.

I bought this stereo for my daughter who lives in a studio condo. Space is at a premium so I was looking for a compact system, but didn't want to compromise quality. This stereo is compact,good looking and can be placed on a bookshelf(which she did), or mounted on the wall. In spite of the small size, the sound is BIG. My husband is somewhat of a stereo snob and he couldn't believe how good this stereo sounded.

I bought this for the bedroom. It charges my iTouch at night and I get to listen to a little music while the sleep timer shuts it off later. The bluetooth even works to my iTouch if I forget it in the car. It's probably not great if you were looking at it to fill a larger area. While it has a pretty good sound at a regular kind of level, it probably would not perform well enough for a large living room. It is great for the purpose for which it was purchased, my bedroom.

Great sound from such a small system and it looks nice too! Easy to set up and use - highly recommend this product to those who still want to listen to CDs and the radio as well as their IPOD.

The compact design is ingenious....the way that the door slides either left or right to reveal ipod station or cd player. I have only used the radio and the cd player (waiting on grandkids to try the ipod), but the sound coming from those little speakers is amazing.

Classy look on the wall.

My wife had/has an alarm clock/radio with an iPod dock but the sound was terrible so she wanted something with more punch. This is a great product. Of the 20-30 speaker systems we looked at this was at/near the top for looks and feel. The Sony products looked and felt cheap. While this unit doesn't quite have the look of say a Bose system it still feels like a quality product that won't break easily. The sound, at least for our purposes, is fantastic. We aren't audiophiles and never plan to be. We simply wanted something that could be turned up to fill our large master bedroom and still sound clear. This does that. The Blue Tooth conectivity is a nice plus since my wife's otterbox case for her iPhone 4 wouldn't fit and it would be a pain swapping it in and out. With the Panasonic SC-HC40 Compact Stereo System she just streams it! My wife loves it which means I'm thrilled with it!

The first time I received this unit the fast forward button became stuck after depressing it a few times. I returned it and the same thing happened on the second unit. At that point I assumed it was a manufacturing or engineering defect and return it for a refund.

The sound was good for such a small and light system. Don't expect a lot of volume though.

I am disappointed in the quality. I expected more from Panasonic.

This panasonic if I liked, I've been looking for a machine so compact and with good sound and I found it! its design, the remote control and what I like most is the "Bluetooth" do not need to put the iPhone into the unit because I control it from anywhere in my apartment with the Iphone! am very happy with panasonic model body, I hope the manufacturers to make more products with bluetooth.

I'm really enjoying this unit. Sound quality is really good, and the volume more than adequate for a bedroom, den, or office. Looks great on a wall, and the controls very intuitive. Bluetooth means in addition to docking my IPOD Touch, it will handle movies, tv, and radio from my smart phone, as well as incoming calls. I ordered from Amazon for a great price - too good, I guess - because they did not honor their ad and canceled the order - not good business. I found it online from another source for less than half what they're advertising it for now - so look around. I'd come to just accept Amazon's pricing, but no more.
At the end of the day I'm unhappy with Amazon, but delighted with the Panasonic product.
