At the heart of the SC-HT07 is a sophisticated, flexible, easy-to-customize core component for both audio and home theater. The receiver's Dolby Digital and DTS decoders provide crisp, clear sound, and Dolby Pro Logic II Surround yields richness to movies and music. The SC-HT07 has three surround modes: movie, music, and panorama. The adjustable music and panorama settings add surround effects to stereo sources. These settings can be altered to fully customize your audio experience.
Panasonic's Sound Field Control gives your sound further definition with six preset modes for music and an additional six settings for movies and television audio. With Sound Field Control, you can make adjustments based on what's important to you. You can enhance the dialogue in dramatic movies, enhance the crowd noises for sporting events, or simulate a live club sound for your favorite music. Dynamic range compression allows you to listen to content recorded with Dolby Digital at low volumes while maintaining audio clarity. It's a perfect option for late-night viewing or listening.
The SC-HT07 receiver supports a wide array of audio and video components: CD players, DVD players, DVD recorders, tape decks, VCRs, and more. An AM/FM tuner is built into the unit with 30 presets for your favorite stations. The unit features a variety of audio and video inputs, including S-video and composite audio/video inputs, and a digital audio input. The SC-HT07 also features a front-panel composite input that is perfect for camcorders
The all-inclusive SC-HT07 includes a full set of six speakers to create a full, realistic, multichannel surround-sound experience in your home theater. The SC-HT05 includes two front speakers and two surround speakers with adjustable height speaker stands, a center speaker, and a subwoofer. The primary speakers utilize Panasonic's unique tall, thin design and reach 44 inches tall when the speaker stand is fully extended. The front-channel speakers put out 35 watts per channel and the subwoofer kicks out 140 watts per channel.
The SC-HT07 features a unique set of controls to completely customize your speaker placement and configuration. When you set up your speakers, you can optimize the sound by selecting the appropriate speaker size. The large speaker setting reproduces a full sound range, especially the lower levels of bass. For small speakers, the setting makes automatic adjustments to the bass range reproduction to avoid distortion and speaker damage. The preset adjustments can also be manually changed. The receiver's versatility allows you to configure an array of both large and small speakers in a surround-sound setup. You can also focus the sound of your home theater by inputting the distance of your front, center, and surround speakers from your primary seating location. The easy setup can be adjusted quickly if you change the layout of your room, or if you add speakers.
The universal remote control included with the receiver allows you to control the other components in your home theater, as well as all six speakers in the multichannel audio array. The SC-HT07 also includes a sleep timer to shut off the unit at the end of the evening.

I've been waiting for someone to review this...,

I decided to buy it anyway. The SC-HT05 gets good reviews and it appears that Panasonic considers the SC-Ht07 in the same family because they share a manual. I have had this HTIB for 2 days now and I cannot find a problem with it. It has great clarity and volume. It is a much better option than the 05 if you are going to use stands since the speakers do not have the built in shelf stand. The set looks great. There are plenty of inputs, especially 2 optical and 1 coaxial audio. This HTIB will even do video switching if you use S-video or RCA cables. No flaws found yet. Great price for a set that includes stands.

I waited for almost a month or two for reviews on this system and since this is basically the same as the SC-HT05 with just some improvements and since SC-HT05 had raving reviews everywhere, I dared to purchase this system and I am very very happy with my purchase.
Pro's: Breezy set up, speaker stands, very sleek design, looks incredible, sounds great (i have watched almost 20 DVD's), has enough output's/inputs (though doesnt have a component video), very affordable price tag. Cons: As mentioned here b4, the speaker wires do not wind down the speaker stand as well as they should and so I had to reroute it along the borders of the carpet. Just a very good system to pass up for anyone who already owns a good progressive scan DVD player. I bought it on Amazon and was delivered within 3 days !!! If anyone has second thoughts of going for the SC-HT05 or SC-HT07, just think on how much you will eventually spend for speaker stands and you will get the answer !!!!

Out of many, this HTIB is the better choice!,

Pros: Good solid reviews and speaker stands included. Also great sounding for it's price. Plenty of audio inputs for its class.
Cons: The only drawback I had is I wanted to use better speaker wire, but couldn't thread through speaker stand base because wire was too thick and damaged speaker wire while putting together the stands. Made for smaller wire that came with unit. This is the only reason I gave this system 4 stars. Otherwise it is a 5 star system.
