I ordered this Panasonic home theater system on a Thursday and received it the following Monday. Let me tell you, when the UPS guy delivered this, it was hooked up in under 30 min. Nice, clear, booming sound, an i-pod dock and a 5-disc DVD changer that converts standard movies to 1080p- Incredible!! The picture quality(viewed on a 42-in flat screen) along with crisp sound and great price(thanks Amazon!)is all you could ever ask for in a home theater system. The only knock that I have with this system is that there are a bunch of wires that crisscross everywhere but it's not that big a deal. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this system expecting mediocre performance, given the price. On my other TV, I have a high-end Yamaha receiver with a Bose Acoustimass speaker system. I honestly believe the sound is just as good with this system, and it costs about $1500 less.

What I did give up are features and controls, and really high volume. You can make minor adjustments that I believe are fully sufficient, but not the wide array of sound settings and tweaks that are available for more money. Also, it provides plenty of good volume and sound quality for a home theater application, but the volume may be limited if you are looking to also use the system as an audio system to play when not watching a TV (music for a party, outdoor connections). That is not to say it won't get very loud with good quality, just that is where a high-end system with more power can surpass this.

Bottom line, if you want a really good surround sound experience, I'm very pleased with this system. If you want all of the capabilities of a high-end expensive system...then don't look for it in a $230 HTIB. Definitely recommend this product.

This is a great quality sounding system for the money. It was extremely easy to set up and the remote control is not complicated at all to use, unlike some more expensive systems. I would highly recommend this system especially if this is going to be your first system. It is well worth the money, you will not be disappointed.

So I just set up the system and hooked it up to my 42" Panasonic Plasma (via HDMI and Optical connections, which I recommend) and was blown away by the sound, crisp highs and deep lows. The smart setup which includes a microphone was easy and walked you thru everything you need to do. It works great with the "VIERA Link" all I have to do is turn the TV on or off and it comes on or shuts down with it. Havent tried the Ipod connection, will do that tonight... I connected my iphone and it's pretty cool that you can watch videos you have on it thru the connection on your TV.

I have a 50 inch panasonic plasma and the sound is great with this system. The vierra link hooked up by itself somehow and my cable remote changes the sound as well as tv remote which is nice. I also hooked up to my ps3, the sound is awesome, so much better than original speakers. Easy to hook up, I never had to look at instuctions. My living room is small and this system is overkill but I was looking at getting one of those speakers that just go in the middle of the tv and are all in one, but those sytems cost more than this 5.1 system so it seemed stupid to go that route and it would have been, you can't go wrong at this price. I am watching a movie on it now picture and sound is great! AND TWO DAY FREE SHIPPING YOU CANT GO WRONG!! Oh yea for those complaining about not enough optical inputs as you only get one, just buy a nyrius toslink switcher which allows you to ad three more digital audio inputs amazon has one for 20 bucks free shipping or a more expensive one with a remote that adds more component hookups if you need them.....the system should have more build in, I agree, but it doesn't, get over it, it still works great.

I sent a complaint to both the vendor and amazon. Neither responded. The link is false advertising. If you want those speakers to be wireless, you have to find the kit to make it wireless. I believe you have to pay another 130 dollars directly to Panasonic because that kit is very hard to find. Do not buy this model if you want wireless. Go straight to the PT770 because that is the model that comes wireless. The false advertising aside, the sound is good.

Let me tell you that I am very cautious about the sound quality in whatever audio product I buy, and this one is just next to Bose. I bought this majorly for surround sound and boy! you need to watch 300 to believe what I am saying.
Couple of things like it cannot play avi/divx, which of course is considerable for me, as I have lots of movies in avi format. I hope Panasonic comes out with some software upgrade for this ;) Also, so many wires create a mess, but thats with any such system. The rear speakers are a bit underpowered, even after setting them loud from player settings and lastly, cannot hook more than one system/receivers to it at a single time, so thats again goes towards the negative side. If you can live with these, don't look any further. Great sound with clear picture quality! Still need to test these with my gaming laptop. Have ordered a 3.5 mm to 2 RCA splitter. Mostly, it would be good only.

I bought this system for two reasons.
I wanted the tall front side speakers so I didn't have to put them on something to get them to ear height, and I couldn't spend a lot of money on a non essential item right now.
Setup was a super easy, and it sound as good as a friend of mine's much more expensive home theater.The excellent picture the upconvert DVD gives me is a pretty sweet bonus and my son was impressed that we have finally entered the 21st century by getting an iPod dock.

Bought this system as a first home theater system.Am very happy with the sound quality and dvd player.Hook up is easy.But if you want to
have the rear speakers wireless get the sc-pt770 system.The wireless kit comes with that system NOT with the 670.I ordered the wireless kit and its been on back order over month when this was written in August of 09.So ,like the system but I would buy the 770...12/1/09 follow up...wireless kit never off back order, and company ordered from canceled order saying no kits in site for long time.So DONT buy this set up if you need a wset of wireless rear speakers

for my first one this is good. nice bass and i'm loivng the ipod dock and am/fm radio feature. (which is why i really got it instead of opting for a "traditional" radio/cd player/boombox:) lol! anyhow, no complaints really. Just if you purchase it enjoy.
