Bought this item directly from Panasonic (mistake #1 - no free return shipping and 15% restocking fee) earlier this year and returned it within 30 days.

The sound from the unit, when there is no interference from other sources, is pretty good. Bass output is not exceptional, but will certainly get the job done in a low-volume setting (i.e don't use these as a professional DJ). Watching episodes of Galactica with these puppies certainly went fine; the sound from the ZT2 fills up a small/medium space like my living room somewhat satisfyingly.

However, 5.1 audio emulation is a bit of a joke; there is no way speakers like these can mimic the full sound of a properly installed 5.1 system.

The real issue here is that these speakers, while easy to set up (just push a button on the remote, tell the system which pylon is the left- and which is the right-channel and bingo) are very interference-sensitive. In my apartment, I would get great sound so long as my neighbors weren't home. When they did return home and switched on their various electrical gadgets: interference overload. The sound would cut in and out in an unpleasant way and the experience would be ruined.

Consider this a warning for you apartment dwellers; those in a more suburban setting may have better luck, but if you live in a house/condo you might as well wire up a proper 5 or 7 speaker system, no?

My home theater setup uses a projector and I like to keep my components on the back wall by my couch. This system is the best (and the ONLY as of 7/2011) solution I found for my setup. It's unbelievable but after doing a bunch of research I haven't seen any other systems with wireless front speakers! With these you can put your receiver elsewhere.

The sound quality is awesome and I don't feel like I need any extra bass. Impressive surround sound from just 2 speakers. The wireless connectivity is very good but I have experienced a few interference issues. These are very rare and I'm not removing a star for this. This is a unique product with excellent performance and currently there's nothing better for my purposes.

This system was easy to set up. I was especially happy with the wireless tower speakers. They sound great in my apartment. I hooked my Apple TV up to this so I can do Netflix, way to go. I also decided to add a subwoofer via the optional subwoofer output that this model offers. I chose the Sunfire SDS8 Black Ash -inch 200-watt Powered Subwoofer to really add that bass to this system. It was great without the sub, but even better with it!

The Panasonic SC-ZT2 was everything the speakers on our Sony 50" Bravia flat screen were not. Provides crisp sound in all modes and creates a super perceived center channel. Very pleased with this system.

I was hoping as this is HDMI 1.4 that it would pass-through the 3D signal for my Samsung TV and Bluray... Unfortunately, no... it doesn't. I had to run the HDMI to the TV direct and then pass an optical from the TV return to get surround sound and keep my 3D working... Overall sound is pretty good and I enjoy it...I just am disappointed it did not pass through the 3D signal..
