5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, very complete, quite cheap CD player
I have never had a portable CD player before. I did a lot of research
on the internet to compare several different brands of players. I
choose this player, because for this price it was the most complete
player I could find. It has all features I expected, a good anti skip
system (never skipped so far), reads CD-R, good bass, good headphone

1.0 out of 5 stars With Fords and Mercuries
When I tried my new Panasonic SL-SX271C in my house, I was thrilled. When I tried it in my car, it would only run about 20 to 30 seconds before the tape player would eject the adapter. I called Panasonic. They said that some Ford and Mercury factory-installed tape players were incompatible with Panasonic's adapter. (Sigh) I rate this 1 star to get people to check out my...

5.0 out of 5 stars DANG THIS THING IS TINY!, August 16, 2000
This review is from: Panasonic SL-SX271C Portable CD Player with Car Kit (Electronics)
I was in search of a good CD player after my old one quit on me so I reviewed alot of brands and came up with Panisoniac. At first I was like OK this is too small to be any good but I took it for a little test with my mountain bike and I rode it across a gravel road over a speed bump and anything else I could find and it didn't skip once even with the anti-skip off! I love music so this is good it puts up with my constant abuse. It is used at least 5 hours a day on average and it hardly ever needs new batteries plus there are these special batteries that you can buy and the player recharges them itself! Because of the price this is a good player for anyone cause you can do whatever you want with it. That is what portable players are for!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice for the price, April 2, 2000
This review is from: Panasonic SL-SX271C Portable CD Player with Car Kit (Electronics)
I chose did product with my faith in panasonic. I did not use a lot of portable CD players so I cannot think of the comparison with other brands. I like this CD play because of the fact that
1) it is slim, sleek design, very light.
2) 24+hours playing with 2 AA alkaline batteries wow! I alway admire panasonic in this feature (most of panasonic product use very little energy). Adapter is also included.
3) Good anti-skip, in fact I never notice the skiping during shaking.

Sound is ok, heavy X bass. I used it with my computer speakers/sub. quite nice, but it need a little more volume. Nice for use with the head phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Portable Music, Light Weight, June 16, 2000

When i first got this player i was really impressed with all the stuff it came with (the car kit). It had an AC-Adapter, Car sound converter, a power adapter for the cigarrete lighter slot and overall it's a very good player ^_^! I listen to all my music on this when i go on trips or school or anywhere. It reads my CD-R music great and i have no problems with it. The anti-skip is pretty good though sometimes it skips for no reason... pretty weird considering i have the a-shock feature on and i'm not even moving the player. Anyway i get to listen to my music for a long time even on 2 cheap AA bateries. It's a great CD player and I'm glad i have it

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent portable CD player for the car..., April 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Panasonic SL-SX271C Portable CD Player with Car Kit (Electronics)
I was amazed by the fact that this machine has never skipped, even on really bumpy roads! The sound quality is quite good with its built in xtra bass functionality. The main buttons are placed directly on top and in the middle of the machine making it easy to see them in your peripheral vision while driving. For the price, I couldn't find a better portable CD player for my car.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skips be gone, August 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Panasonic SL-SX271C Portable CD Player with Car Kit (Electronics)
This is the best player around. I researched for a long time to find the most user friendly one out there. All buttons are labeled and basiclly self explanatory. I tested the anti shock and shook it and it never skippped unless i had the anti shock off. The bass is excellent! It can also be changed to take the bass off if you want. I definatly recommend it!

I got this item about a month ago and I haven't had to change the batteries yet, and I listen to it all the time. The other thing that I love is that while climbing out of my truck the discman slipped from my hand and fell on the ground, didn't skip once, it has a couple of scratches, but it runs perfeclty, I couldn't be happier with this discman.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done, October 18, 2000

I bought this based on other reviews and am more than satisfied with its performance. Driving a small car, I really have no room to mount a cd player, and this one _never_ misses a beat. I keep it in the seat next to me when I am alone and I throw it in the center console when I have company. The anti skipping works swimmingly. And it comes with all you need to turn your car stereo from a crappy tape player to a mediocre cd player (this is based on my crappy stereo and speakers... individual results may vary.) No complaints here, only praise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD-player, small, great features, great sound, April 10, 2001

I have to admit that I was skeptical about a Panasonic after owning an Aiwa portable CD-player. But I was not disappointed with this purchase. The player itself is compact. The features are great. One thing I like is that it actually remembers the settings I choose from one time to the next. My last player didn't do that. The sound that this baby puts out is amazing when I connect it to external speakers. I can't believe it's coming from a portable. The only problem is that the display does not have a back-light, so if you use your player in dark places a lot, you may want to consider a different model.
