5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This was a great buy. The sound is wonderful and the headphones are comfortable. The player is very lightweight. The 40 sec. anti-skip works really well. Playback wasn't interupted even after turning upside-down and tossing it from hand to hand. Another great feature is that it is CD-R/CD-RW compatible for playing home-made CD's. This is definitly a great buy, and you pay...

3.0 out of 5 stars feels cheap but plays alright
Overall a nice CD player, although the blue and teal clash and look kind of tacky. It's lightwight, but because of that feels very, very cheap. I haven't broken it yet so maybe it's not as cheap as it feels, but ultimately, I'd reccomend shelling out a few more dollars for a higher end product.

This is definitly a great buy, and you pay $30-$40 less than a sony CD Player, which i dont think can get any better.

5.0 out of 5 stars One ... of a good CD player, July 11, 2001
This review is from: Panasonic SL-SX280G Portable CD Player (Teal and Blue) (Electronics)
I just got this CD player yesterday. Its the best cd player I have ever got in my life. This baby never skips. It also has this new "hold" system. It makes it so if u leave your CD player on it turns off by its self. I recommend that u buy this CD player right now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Work out without skipping!, October 11, 2001

This unit is truly a non skip cd player. I brought it to the gym and jumped around a lot and the cd never skipped. It is just as reliable using cds that I burned from MP3s as store bought cds. This never happened with any other portable cd player I ever had. It is also good looking, easy to use, compact, lightweight, and very reasonably priced. I sure hope it lasts because I am enjoying it very much!

5.0 out of 5 stars Forget Sony -- Panasonic portable cd rocks!, October 10, 2001

I am listening to this unit as I type this. While I don't know if this is the best electronic item ever produced, I can say it is miles better than the Sony discman [crud] I had to put up with for 2 years. Since I didn't really use the unit that much, I didn't bother replacing it until recently. But, wow, I'm now very glad I did.

I have play a half dozen cds so for and no skips. I couldn't go 6 minutes with the Sony. The unit is smaller than the Sony (I had), also lighter, and I think sounds better. The drawbacks are the awkward controls. There are 2 sets of 4 buttons and you have to look at them to do things at first. I'm sure after a while you get used to them, but they aren't as intuitive to me as the Sony controls were. Oh, well, that's a minor inconvenience. Now, I wouldn't buy any portable CD unit other than Panasonic. My research leads me to believe they not only have the best units, it isn't really close. Get this unit: you won't be sorry!

If you're one who tends to set your cd player and keeps all original settings to the end of the cd, this player is perfect. Sound quality and the anti skip feature are flawless and exceeded my expectations. Changing settings, however, requires removing the unit from your carrying case. Unlike some players that have a dial type volume control on the bottom and a slit in the bottom of the carrying case to access this control, no such convenience exists here. My answer was to superglue a stainless steel belt clip to the back of the player to leave the controls accessible. However . . . since the controls are so small and virtually indistinguishable by feel, some physical contortion is still needed to make changes. Once again, the sound quality is wonderful (even with RW CDs)and I haven't experienced a single skip while jogging. Were I to do it again however, I'd spend a little more for a panasonic with remote control.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great player, Great price, December 19, 2001
This review is from: Panasonic SL-SX280G Portable CD Player (Teal and Blue) (Electronics)
This player is great! It has stacks of features and is great value. The remote is really handy and the headphones are very good too. The Anti skip works really well and can easily match sonys G Protection. Compared to sonys player of the same price range this player blows it away in terms of features and sound quality. Sonys next model up is matched by this product in terms of features but this player is much, much better value. If you are looking for a player which is packed full of great features at a very resonable price, look no further, for the panasonic SX280 is the best value out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good deal for the low price, October 18, 2001

I wanted a portable CD player but didn't want to invest alot of money. I found this one and decided to give it a shot. I haven't been disappointed yet. This CD player is lightweight and easy to carry in your hand while walking down the street. I have not experienced any skipping, even while quickly dodging traffic on busy Chicago streets. But most impressive is the 'hold' feature that when activated locks all the controls. This is ideal because the player can't be accidently turned on and your batteries won't wear down. Talking about batteries, they have a long life too! If you're looking for a good value for your money this may be it!

5.0 out of 5 stars goodgood, April 7, 2001
This review is from: Panasonic SL-SX280G Portable CD Player (Teal and Blue) (Electronics)
This CD player is excellant. I received one as a gift from my relatives on my birthday and it works extremely well. The colors are very cool and the player itself is attractive to the eye. If you are looking for a CD player that has all the gadgets of very expensive players, but still has very nice sound and bass, then this one is the right one for you.

I got this CD Player today and not only was I thrilled about the design and color, but the playing factor!! The Anti-Skip works great! I tested my friends CD players, but this, I say, is the best!! You can easily remember the buttons, but they are a tiny bit small. Although no Car-kit or AC Adapter (14.5V), this thing is great. It also uses rechargeable batteries and a CD- R(W) adaptability. The headphones are great too, go GET THIS CD PLAYER! :) (I would give it 5-thumbs up if I could!)
