4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine. Lasts a long time.
High serviceability to cost ratio. I used one in the car on a 2800 mile road trip and in rooms with portable speakers and was impressed with the product's quality.

Pros: Good sound quality; no skipping; plays my CD-R media; simple, ergonomically correct, controls; comes with car kit and headphones; 'hold' switch to disable buttons during play-back

Cons: Must reset...

3.0 out of 5 stars Sound good, low convenience
Player (made in China) Sound quality was good with headphones nice warm sound, but I do not listen to music loud and I wanted to edge it above max volume. Can use rechargeable batteries.
Car kit (Made in Indonesia) is of minimal quality, came with an "out" in the flimsy wiring so occasionally have to jiggle. Has a hiss.
Player has digital push...

Player has digital push buttons so it forgets EQ & volume settings when car or player turned off (much better than knobs guys! [Sarcasm]) Have to turn to max every time to make tape player pick up as a low volume recording (a real pain for in town driving!).
Overall disappointing, but not bad performance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Panasonic SL-SX3221C Disc Man with Car Kit, May 2, 2004

This Disc Man is cool, cute and very durable. I bouth it for my 4 weeks of trip to Australia and Cambodia. It still is in good condition.

This Disc Man will come to you with:

Flexible Airphones
Disc Man
Car kit

This is an OK Disc Man. It has good features and takes only 2 batteries. I love the shape of this Disc Man. It tells you the duration of your songs and how may tracks that the CD you put in have. My little cousins in Australia just love it. The blue circle is just beautiful.

The coolest thing is that it "remembers" the track that you are listening to. So when you turn it OFF and then ON again it will be at the place that you have left. For example if you are listening to your "Beyond Pink" CD, if you are in song #9 and you turn your Disc Man OFF and On it will return at #9 instead of restart the CD at the bigginning.

So buy this cool-kicking Disc Man and you would not regrate it!!

Lots Of Love,
Fulliem XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

1.0 out of 5 stars Go For A Sony, August 6, 2003
This review is from: Panasonic SL-SX321C Portable CD Player with Car Kit (Electronics)
I've bought about 10 portable players since the late 90's
sometimes Sony being good and other times Panasonic. However
I've always used Sony Car Kits, and when my old one went I
decided to try this Panasonic kit featured here. And I tell yah,
No darn good! I had to crank my cars volume to max to even hear
the music, and also allowed the speakers to hiss. The Way This kit is set up is that the cd player has less Milliwatts powering it, less headphone jack Milliwatt output and to top it off a tape adapter with the head distanced from full contact with the car decks head. All these poor features equal a quite cd player and no ability to crank tunes from your car. I just bought a Sony D-EJ368CK and it sure sounds great. Go for Sony!

1.0 out of 5 stars useless for commuting, August 22, 2003

i bought this so i could listen to foreign language instruction while driving to work. my car has only a radio, so i use the portable cd player with headphones. with the volume at maximum, i still can't hear the conversations, even with all my windows rolled up.

in my wife's car, which has a cassette player, i used it with the car kit to listen to music on a trip to the velodrome in trexlertown. i had to turn the cassette player's volume way up to hear pink floyd's first album... some loud, raucous stuff which i should be able to hear clearly at regular volume.

in summation, don't buy this unless you plan to use it while reclining in a soundproof room. it's pretty much useless for any other application. a total waste of my money.
