i was forced to get a new cd player when my 2.5 year old discman finally pooped out on me right before i was leaving for london. a quick stop at frys on the way to the airport left me with a decision between this one and the [other] of the same price. being easily impressed with gadgets (i.e. a wireless remote) i went with this one.every time i use it, i regret that choice. as soon as a disc is put in and the door closed, you can hear a ridiculous hiss that shouldn't be in any kind of audio equipment. granted, i use my [other player] which provide much better listening than the stock ones they give you, but upon testing them, i found that you could hear the hiss even with the stock headphones in most quiet situations. i have now owned this player for a year, and about two month ago, the cd began spinning crooked, causing it to skip massively about 5-6 tracks in to any cd. this is due to a cheap little mechanism designed to hold the cd in with push-button release that wore out without expansive abuse. among other things wrong were it's lack of a line out jack, two completely useless eq settings, and buttons that are all the same shape making it impossible to navigate in the dark/your pocket. this thing is [worthless]. but beyond that, the skip protection is actually fairly nice when the cd is spinning flat, and the battery life was good enough that i barely bothered to plug it into the wall when listening using it at home plugged into a stereo. but seriously.

I bought this cd player (with car kit included) about 3-4 years ago at Target, and I still love it. Though I usually use my new iPod now, this cd player's still gonna be with me for quite awhile longer. I mainly use this player now when I want to play CD-RWs in my car (car refuses to play CD-RWs). I've never had a problem with this item breaking or anything (and I can say that I used this player often before I got an mp3 player for the first time a couple weeks ago), and I can't recall any major problems with skipping in the car or when I'm walking with it either. Cool thing about this player is that it remembers what track I left off, so when I stop it, press play again, it starts off from the track I left off with. Plus the car adapter works with my iPod, so I don't have to buy one for the iPod.
