I've owned this rice cooker over a year and use it at least twice a week and have never had a problem with the the non-stick coating coroading or the rice pan or and any other part of the rice cooker having any problem, it just makes great rice everytime. I have about 3 other Panasonic rice cookers and Panasonic just makes the best rice cookers. A couple of weeks of ago I bought a Sanyo fuzzy logic rice cooker: the first one had the stainless steel trim broken but I tried to use it anyway. I was really amazed at the chemcial smell inside of the Sanyo rice cooker, it was so strong that it smelled up my whole kitchen(no matter how many times I used it). This sanyo rice cooker had to go back!!! From now on I will stick with Panasonic National rice cookers they are great!

This review is from: Panasonic SR-TE18NVO 10-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer with Moisture Cap, White/Violet Orchid (Kitchen)
I have owned this item for several years and it consistantly performes its duties like a trooper. The rice is always totally cooked, never water left or burned rice in the bottom like other rice cookers I have had. I have had no trouble with any corrsion and use my rice cooker at least twice a week.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST for rice lovers, September 30, 2005

This review is from: Panasonic SR-TE18NVO 10-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer with Moisture Cap, White/Violet Orchid (Kitchen)
This is the second Panasonic rice cooker that I own (the first one lasted for almost 10 years!). I regret not buying it before. The rice cooks without sticking to the bottom, and it is not overcooked.
I use it at least twice a week. It is very easy to clean, it looks great and the moisture cap really makes a difference when compared to the regular metal o glass lids. It is a great choice for bridal registry gift lists.

i missed out on a friday sale..this was like 54.00....i added it to my cart and one day it showed up at about 56.00 marked down from 94.00...i was looking for an on/off model like this one to make recipes out of the ultimate rice cooker cookbook.....
this is a great cooker for price....the snap shut lids are so much better than the glass lid models...my experience....i had a sunpentown and zojirushi previously..the zojirushi i gave away and the sunpentown burned down with my home.....never a problem with either!

I have used this rice cooker now for about 2 months. It not only does rice, but can steam vegetables and other things in the tray on top of the rice. I was hesitant because of the simple one button used to run it, but it cooks perfectly every time.

This review is from: Panasonic SR-TE18NVO 10-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer with Moisture Cap, White/Violet Orchid (Kitchen)
I have owned many rice cookers in past. This is the best one of all. The rice comes out to be very moist. The non stick vessel that comes with the cooker is of very good quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good long lasting product but nonstick coating will be spoiled if not cleaned with care, December 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic SR-TE18NVO 10-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer with Moisture Cap, White/Violet Orchid (Kitchen)
I am using this product from last 5 years and used daily from 2007 to 2009 and now using very rarely. The coating of the inner vessel will be spoiled if not cleaned with care. Wet the inner vessel for at least for 30 to 45 minutes with soap water and then clean gently. You will not find a replacement inner vessel once it get spoiled (lost nonstick coating). I have given this 4* because its still working and cut one * because inner vessel not available separately once lost nonstick coating.

my cooker just broke and i dont know why. i blame it on the girlfriend. she was the last to use it. it no longer turns on. now im sad, and hungry. no rice.

people complain about the inside non-stick coating chipping and coming off in the their food. Its because you are not taking proper care of it. its non-stick, that means you cant use metal spoons or scrub the sh#t out of it when you are cleaning it. push plastic or wood.

i think this goes to all non sticky teflon-y products.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great rice cooker at a great price!, June 11, 2007

This review is from: Panasonic SR-TE18NVO 10-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer with Moisture Cap, White/Violet Orchid (Kitchen)
Now, I use this rice cooker for just myself. For those of you that think that this is too large for a single person. I think it works just fine. Unlike some other rice cookers that seem to cook rice better with 3 or more cups. I've found that it seems to cook just great with 2. Unfortunately I haven't tried anything less than this, but I've had other cookers just go horribly wrong with 2 cups.

One thing I learned about rice cookers is, don't wash it regularly like you would a pot or pan. Just lightly rinse and sometimes lightly soap up the pan and rinse thoroughly. After this, it will work just fine.

Of coruse, everything is high quality, I've found that most rice cookers don't need endless scrubbing and washing.

This is probably one of the best rice cookers I've ever used. Perfect rice, each and every time.

Now, I have yet to use the steamer basket, but so far with cooking rice, it's just fine.

I recommend this for those that have been burned by cheapo cookers in the past.

Highly recommended!!

Heathtown
