1.0 out of 5 stars Refurbed. Remote problem should have been BOLD TYPE
Got this for someone else that fortunatly didn't need the remote to work {CAUSE IT DIDN"T}. If it had been for me I would have returned it. There is just so many less expensive TV's on the market now that if the remote doesn't work DON'T SELL IT. KEEP it or GIVE it to someone, or just Man-Up and take the lose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Picture and Sound, September 30, 2005

This is my first LCD HDTV Monitor. I bought this for watching mostly my basic cable channels and DVD movies.

I'm glad I got this one, I have read reviews about other display technologies, finally I settled with LCD (considering the LCD TVs are within the screen size range I'm looking for). I had many visits to Bestbuy and Circuit city to pick the right TV with best picture and sound. Circuit City has better choices. I did a close comparison between many brands (Sony and Samsung and Panasonic next to each other), I'm impressed with Panasonic's true color with more depth in dark scenes. Also because I have been happy customer of Panasonic ever since. Finally, I bought Panasonic 26" LCD TV from online, with better deal.

It may be immature to comment, because its been just 2 days I watched TV (with no HD connection, so far I have connected only to cable TV). I just want to give my first impressions. the TV looks great, even with 4 speakers below screen, the surround sound and stereo is awesome. The picute quality is great with channels such as CNN, FOX News, TNT, Discovery, NGC, E!, etc., (as long as broadcast is good), considering this, I'm sure this TV will show extraordinary performance after connecting HD source, as I saw in Circuit city.

I came to know, just after buying TV, that DVD players with HD upconversion (cost around $200) is required to get DVD movies of HD quality. (this information is not disclosed by retailers or web, until we explore).

so far so good!!!

I highly recommend this TV, because of HDMI, contract ratio, HDTV 1080i/720p/480p, 16:9 Aspect Ratio, Motion Adaptive 3D-Y/C Digital Comb Filter and 1366 x 768 pixels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Widescreen LCD TV, December 21, 2005

I took a chance with an LCD display and picked Panasonic because of their good reputation with television technologies. I work in the graphic design field and work with LCD displays and thought their performance is great especially with color.

The size I needed for the bedroom was between 23-26 inches. I settled for the 26" widescreen model which would replace a great but small 20" 4:3 Sony cathode ray tv. Once I received the TV, I was very pleased with its size and how it still fit my bedroom entertainment stand. I also got my cable box replaced the next day with a high definition dvr box to showcase the new LCD TV. The picture with high def channels is beautiful and detailed. Colors are rich and vibrant and make channel content look hyper realistic. The analog channels also don't look that bad and I believe the LCD TV makes them look better.

The problems I had with this TV was with color and brightness . Color is very important to me especially because of my work in design. So it took me a few days to get the correct color setting for each input (DVD and HD cable box). The obstacles I faced dealt with selecting appropriate back light, picture, brightness, and color temp setting. I had to choose picture settings that will make the TV from looking too bland and flat from not having enough black level and brightness in the picture. You also have to consider turning down the brightness or the picture gets too washed out and can actually hurt your eyes. High brightness levels have caused irritation to my eyes from long hours working in front of my LCD monitor at work. So take precaution.

Other than modifying the settings for the TV which took a few days of experimenting. The Panasonic has really pleased me with its great picture detail, design, and relatively small size. I would highly recommend this product! Also, Panasonic is offering a rebate of 150 dollars off for this model.

5.0 out of 5 stars good choice for a smaller flat panel tv, April 25, 2006

I am very pleased with the purchase of this tv. The number of features far exceed the competition, and the quality of the sound and picture leave the competition in the dust.

Four speakers below the screen enable this 26" flat panel to fit into spaces other units only dream about.

Brilliant picture quality on all settings, though I use "normal" to save the life of the bulb. Imagine, a replaceable bulb! Suddenly, this tv is a non-disposable, again, far better than the competition.

Easy to set up, not too heavy, brilliant picture quality. Not much more you could ask for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely the very Best ..., April 26, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic TC-26LX50 26-Inch Flat Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I had to replace my 22 inch version of this set with this new one, and it lives up to the superb Panasonic reputation. Rock solid colors almost better than nature itself, easy to set-up (in less than five minutes) two component inputs and three video inputs (all with interchangeable lettering, and the ability to skip an input if you do not need it) four tiny speakers that will blow you out of the room, and a substantially better picture than the smaller set. If you are buying an LCD set this year look no further than this masterpiece. You will NOT be sorry!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with purchase, April 20, 2006

I bought this in March of 2006 as a lot of stores seem to be clearing it out for newer product lines. I could not be more pleased. I spent a lot of time comparing it to the Sony 26" Bravia which was also being reduced in price. In the end, I just preferred the picture of this so much more. Sony's have nicer reds, but I find the Panasonic has better balance overall. I use this with a DVD Component feed, Xbox Component feed, Tivo S-Video feed, and regular coax cable. The component feeds are obviously superior especially for widescreen movies. The coax/s-video feeds are excellent and not as grainy as I expected for scaled-up images. One more thing, I have a tiny condo living space, and this thing is perfectly compact and compliments my modern space.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value for your money., December 30, 2005

I just purchased this TV as a christmas gift for myself. I have say that the TV is an excellent value for your money. After reading Consumer Reports for LCD TV's, I can see why this TV was rated in the top 5. The colors have to be by far the best I've seen on LCD's. I'm thinking of buying Monster cables to get better HD programming but the cables that I recieved from my cable provider are good enough for now. I can't wait to see how HD programming will look with the new cables.

After researching these sets, i found this one on Amazon at an excellent price. It was delivered ahead of schedule (in time for the Olympics), was very easy to set up and the picture is perfect. I was a little surprised at the cost of buying the hdtv converter box and an antenna, but now received about 15 stations, most of them in hi-def, through the air. Not paying for cable or satellite. Can't beat it.
