5.0 out of 5 stars Best bang for your LCD TV buck..., October 12, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic TC-26LX60 26-Inch LCD HDTV with HDMI Connection (Electronics)
I spent 4 days online doing homework... comparing, reading Consumer Reports and 100's of other TV reviews, checking out local store stock, and when the smoke cleared, I bought THIS TV. Up front, that should say a lot...

Pros: Current with the technology, unbeatable Amazon.com price, the display is just awesome, optimal sound system @ a low wattage (20W RMS), NTSC and ATSC (HD) tuners built-in, power-save, 3 different display modes, 3000 : 1 contract ratio, its styled look, footprint, etc., and I set it up in only 5 minutes!

Cons: As you can probably tell already... I very happy with it, and have no real "complaints". The only down things are that it's not PC compatible, a 2nd HDMI port would be nice (I bought a 5 into 1 port HDMI switcher), and a little better pedestal angle adjustment (but not for what you'd have to pay). I'll live with it fine the way it is. This is the perfect LCD for a bedroom, den, or similarly sized viewing area.

Granted this is my first LCD TV, but upon comparison shopping, it's one HDTV w/ digital surround sound that just blew me away. This TV has all the connectibility that the everyday tuber will ever need, and it's up-to-date with today's technology. Cablecards aren't all they're cracked up to be, you know. It's got practically every I/O port you may want, even optical (digital) audio out for recording... and the big plus is the HDMI port. It's state-of-the-art (ONE cable for digital sound and video). I got a great price on it with no extras (tax or shipping) from Amazon.com. Check one out in your locale, and you'll see. Peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome picture, September 22, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic TC-26LX60 26-Inch LCD HDTV with HDMI Connection (Electronics)
Before purchasing this tv I bought a Syntax Olevia 23" widescreen. I was extremely disappointed with the picture of the Syntax, especially dark scenes which appeared "muddy". I took it back, bought the Panasonic 26" from Amazon and have been amazed at the picture quality ever since. The sound is really good too, but the picture is what makes this tv. It is the best picture of all LCD's that I viewed at a local electronics store. It's a little pricier than some but the quality of the picture makes up for the extra cost.

4.0 out of 5 stars a pretty good LCD TV, December 31, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic TC-26LX60 26-Inch LCD HDTV with HDMI Connection (Electronics)
I thought I would never buy another Panasonic product after I had a bad experience several years ago with a DVD recorder made by them. I saw this LCD TV on display in a couple stores, and thought it looked so good I had to try it. I have tried LCD TVs made by Samsung, Toshiba, Sharp, and Philips in the past month or so, and this one is the best.

The picture quality is very good on basic cable. that is important to me since that is the way I access cable. The color quality is very good, though the reds have been a bit too bright. I've tried to tone that down with the tint adjustment. The sound quality is great. It does have a QAM tuner, so I can pick up the local channels in high defintion without using an indoor antenna. The picture quality in high defintion is just awesome, incredible to look at. The viewing angle is great. The picture doesn't fade or "wash out" when I sit off to the side. The picture faded badly on all the other LCD TVs I've tried, except for the one made by Philips. The TV swivels on its stand, which I think is a nice thing.

I don't really like the remote. It seems kind of cheaply made. There don't seem to be as many adjustments available on the menus either, like on the other LCD TVs I've tried. There is some blurring when watching things with quick motion, like sports. I don't really like the silver case, but I guess I'll live with it. Something has me worried though. I lost reception on just some of the cable channels this morning, not all of them. I hope this isn't an indication something is going wrong with the tuner in this TV.

Overall I still recommend this LCD TV. I would give it 4 1/2 stars if that were an option here. It's not a perfect TV, it's very good.

I would also like to compliment amazon.com for their fast shipping, even when I used the free shipping option, which is supposed to take the longest. I had this TV within 3 days or so of ordering it. I live only a couple hundred miles from the warehouse it came from, so maybe that's why it came so quickly.
