Buyer Beware June 11, 2010
Just wanted to let everyone know some of the limitations of this device at the date I'm writing this review:
This Camera attached to a 2010 Panasonic G or VT series TV will display on the following clients:

Macintosh - No Video will be allowed between either host
Linux - No Video will be allowed between either host
Windows - Running only version 4.2 at this time your Panasonic TV will send a maximum 680 x 480 video. (known in skype land as HQ video)

To get 1280x720 720p HD video.. Get this.. You need TWO 2010 Panasonic G or VT series TV with this Skype camera. You also need at least 1.2Mb of network upload speed.

A Panasonic engineer confirmed for me the above.

Mine is going back for refund. Enjoy!

DO NOT buy this product June 15, 2010
One star is way too charitable a rating for this unusable product, not to mention Panasonic's horrifically bad technical support. I have so far called them 3 times for this, and submitted a web help request, and only on the 3rd call (never heard back from web support) actually found someone who had even heard of the TY-CC10W Panasonic camera, OR even Skype. The second time I called I was left on hold for over 30 minutes and once I finally got a person they then hung up on me (accidentally, I presume). This most recent call I was transferred 5 different times before getting to someone who knows that this product exists. I again waited over 30 minutes between being transferred and put on hold this third time before getting help.

I originally called because the camera works - I can see myself when I go to settings, and the red light is on - but when I video call someone there is no video, and the person on the other end can't turn on their video either. I suspect this is due to the Skype 4.2 client compatibility issue described by the previous reviewer. Panasonic support apparently hasn't checked Amazon reviews yet, though, to know why their own product doesn't work :). I'm waiting on a call back from them to tell me how to proceed.

Save your money for when Panasonic gets its act together on this product. Until then it's a $170 brick.

Panasonic TY-CC10W Skype-Enabled Camera

I purchased this camera for use with a 2010 Panasonic/Viera 50" Plasma TV. While connection just required use of a USB port, the instructions left out a few important details, and I had to trial and error several things before getting close to getting the camera to work. Skype is a Viera offering, so I only had to open an account.

My expectation of Skype to Skype, was naive and based on my PC experience with Skype. It should be presented as 2010 Panasonic/Viera/Skype TV to 2010 Panasonic/Viera/Skype TV. Well, not all my contacts have a new Viera TV; so cut your use of Skype way down; if you wanted HD quality video. My unit sent video only, though incoming video and audio was alright, depending on the sender's connection speed and equipment quality.

After three weeks of Panasonic and Skype techs trying to help me get audio to transmit, I've decided to send the camera back as being defective (since there is only one cable to connect and everything else on the TV works as it should), before my return window closes. The unit itself is beautiful; it just doesn't work for me. Blogs and forums that I've checked, reveal very uneven results with this camera. Is it a software or hardware problem? I don't know, but my time is up, and I will go with what does reliably work, without the other limitations.

My suggestion? Wait till all the bugs get worked out of this Panasonic/Skype combination, before rushing in, like I did. Until then, Skype will just be an unused Viera feature on my TV. I should say that there were no vendor problems.

Little expensive for what you get but you have no choice. If you have a panasonic tv, the skype only works with this camera. The picture is good quality.
