Especially when it comes to Plasma TVs, and particularly when it comes to accessories for Plasma TVs.
I dont know what the hell Super Mommy is talking about. I own a 50" Panasonic UK Plasma and this stand takes about 5 minutes to assemble and position the display on with the help of a friend. All this talk about "adjusting the bars, screwing on the TV, banging on it with a hammer, and worrying about the plasma tilting over and falling on small children" is the funniest thing I've ever read anywhere. (Put the hammers and crowbars away.) The stand comes with two cast aluminum pins that are screwed onto a specific location for 50" TVs with two small bolts using a Phillips head screwdriver. The locations are marked and if you cant figure it out then a quick glance at the instruction sheet should point you in the right direction. Position your stand, now you and your pal can lift it onto the guidepins and just let it settle onto its base. Once the Plasma is seated, it will swing freely in about a 10degree arc, but its natural position is to rest in a slightly forward position. This is by design, and I can guarantee you with the heavy counter-weighted base there is absolutely no possibility of your new Panasonic Plasma "falling over" and crushing your rug rats. 5 Hammers

This stand is solid, easy to assemble and provide a good foundation for our 42" Panasonic Plasma monitor. Maybe I am simply too old but I had indigestion over the price... Although Amazon offers a great discount on this stand I am amazed at how expensive plasma stands are (and this stand is no exception).
My wife talked me into a new piece of furniture: An Entertainment Center from Woodleys and consequently I did not have much choice -- We needed a stand. You would figure that at this price that the stand would at least swivel! I do understand that the Amazon description was accurate and that stand is not advertised to swivel... however, I took away one star simply because at this price is SHOULD swivel ;) Packaging was excellent, delivery was fast and the stand arrived in pristine condition. Once the stand was assembled our Panasonic Monitor slipped over the end pins of the stand easily (the stand fits the monitor "exactly") For such a small footprint the stand is remarkably stable. I have not used any of the additional "mounting straps" supplied with the stand to secure it (Waiting on the delivery of the entertainment center before I create a more permanent installation). The stand does cause the monitor to lean forward slightly. I have compensated for the forward tilt with some felt shims under the front of the stand. I do not know if this is a design defect, design "feature" or we have a defective unit.

I was amazed at how easy this was to assemble and how perfectly it fit together. I recieved the television as a hand me down from a program I volunteered for. It sat on the floor for 6 months before I purchased the stand. Now when friends come over I don't get teased.
