I purchased this pen to use with my Panasonic 65VT60 I bought over the holidays. I knew I wouldn't use it much, but it seemed like a cool feature. Well, I have used the pen very lightly a couple of times since I have had my set and today while cleaning the screen I noticed light scratches on my screen. Nice swerving scratches where the pen had touched the screen. They are not visible when the set is on, but that is not the point.

I was nervous to even use it at first because the tip of the pen is just hard plastic, but I figured if it was a Panasonic made peripheral surely it would be fine and not harm such an expensive display. Well I was wrong and I am very unhappy with this product.

The use and function of this touchpen is pretty limited. It is a novelty product that will damage your very expensive TV set, stay away. Those that have left good reviews I suggest you check your display for scratches.

UPDATE: Same day update, but this issue is more unsettling by the hour. I see another reviewer says it is the anti-glare film getting scratched. I can clearly see the scratches with the set ON in reflections while daytime viewing if I am off center view even slightly. This is absolutely unacceptable to me considering it is the manufacturer's own peripheral, and we pay extra for the device outside of the display purchase. There is no way they tested these on the models with the glare filter and did not notice extensive scratching. I will be calling Panasonic about this and will update my review in the future.

The setup of the touch pen was very easy. After five minutes my grandchildren were drawing on the screen. They loved it! More than ten apps are already free to download and use with the touch pen. The pen tip was soft and did not cause scratch of the screen. I bought two pens and both worked very well at the same time.

Why sell an accessory that so easily scratches your brand new TV? I am a mature adult in my fifties and very carefully used this pen just twice for a short period of time and exactly as directed in the user manual. I was surprised the next day when I noticed SEVERAL scratches to the very thin anti-glare factory-applied coating on the glass. I am more upset with myself for purchasing this accessory in the first place. I should have stuck with my original instinct NOT to use anything that contacts the screen. Buyer beware. The pen tip is a very hard plastic, it takes very little pressure to scratch the coating.

Price was reasonable, delivery was on time. Wanted the touchpen in case some app I would enjoy comes along. Grandkids like drawing pictures on the TV screen.

A great option for Panasonics that have this option. I recommend two pens as the TV will accept two simultaneous pens functioning. Great for children or instant white board, scribbling, therapy, etc.

So I bought this to match my Panasonic VT60 tv, and I was excited to use it when doing film study with my soccer team. It is wonky and inconsistent in its function but when it works it is pretty cool.

The pen is well made and sturdy feeling, but the button on top has no feedback to let you know if its been pushed far enough. There is a light at the top of the pen which indicates its on but sometimes that is rotated away from you. The tip is a rounded plastic tip with some slight give and this is intended to be pressed up against the TV glass. It is a better system than it sounds, but your 1-2k investment can be ruined by a careless application of force. That being said, I am a father of 4 and we have not yet caused any damage to the TV or pen.

It works with some games and other items which are available on the TV but if you mount it high, you lose the value in having this pen. The games and interfaces are free from Panasonic.

Not great - but a cool add-on if you have the money.

I put this pen on my wishlist when it was $55 and figured if it ever dropped to a reasonable price, I'd pick one up. When it dropped to $18 I figured what the heck, I might as well get it.

It paired up very easily with my TV and worked right away. There a few games on the Panasonic app market that will utilize it which I haven't played around with, but kids would probably love it.

Otherwise it's pretty neat to be able to freeze a frame on the screen and draw over it. It would be cooler if you could go through slow motion video with it, kind of like sports commentators on TV, but oh well.

For the most part I never use this pen, and figured I wouldn't. It's just one of those things that is neat to have. Don't expect this to be a ground breaking addition to your TV, it's just a neat little gimmick. At the time that I'm writing this review, this pen is $50 and there's no way this is worth that. But it routinely drops under $20 so just keep an eye on it if you're interested.
