When a DVD is burned using this unit, it groups the video clips by date, and places the group for each date in a separate title.
It creates a title menu with one entry per date. However it does not create sub-menus under the titles,
so on playback, when you select a menu item, it just starts playing back the clips for that date.
Thus if you shoot a lot video clips on a one day, and burn a DVD with this unit,
there will be one and only one menu item, with no way to select a particular clip for playback.

No one at Panasonic tech support (mail, e-mail, or phone) knows this, nor do they know anything at all about this unit.
You should only contact their support if you want to waste time, you will never get any accurate information from them.

When you burn a disk from your camcorder, there is a slight pause between each scene which appears every time you pause or turn off the camcorder. I find these pauses annoying and would prefer seamless playback without pauses. The burner cannot do this; the only way to accomplish this, I was told by Panasonic, is to put the video on my PC and, using the HD writer software, eliminate the pauses. I was hoping to avoid this step (and avoid learning the editing software which I otherwise do not need) and burn from camcorder directly to DVD but the pauses are too annoying. I guess I am pausing my camcorder too much, recording only 10-30 seconds of video at a time.

If anyone knows of another way to eliminate this problem, please let me know!!

PURCHASED THIS ITEM ALONG WITH A HDC TM900 VIDEO CAMERA. USED THE 1080/60 AI MODE ON THE CAMCORDER. THE TRANSFER TO A DVD+R DISC WAS VERY EASY WITH ON SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS. THE BURNER TRANSFERED THE 1080/60P TO THE AVCHD MODE WITH NO LOSS OF QUALITY. CANNOT BELIEVE THE RESULTS OF THIS COMBINATION. TOTALLY PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE AND COMPLEMENT PANASONIC FOR GREAT PRODUCTS.

No frills or controls but burns high quality AVCHD or standard Hi-def DVDs from my HDC-TM900. BEWARE THE SHIPPING COSTS, after ordering it I found other dealers with free shipping at about the same price.

Have had the panasonic camcorder 4 years and takes great movies but wanted to put the movies on DVDs for my grandsons (movies are of their sporting activities) but couldn't figure out how to to it on the computer. So purchased the DVD burner and it is so easy to learn (even for someone who is not electronic literate). Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an easy way to make DVDs from their panasonic camcorder.

I purchased my video camera from a used store and the program disk to download/convert the video was missing. I could not locate another disk and needed to records some talks quickly. So I opted to purchase this item which was recommended in my video camera instruction book. I was very pleased with its ease of use. I simply connected it to my video camera, turned it on, inserted a blank DVD, and followed the instructions on my camera. Simple as that. It does take time to record (a couple of them took two hours), but I could start it and go off and do some chores. Then I'd come back and copy another one. I recommend it.

bought this as I needed something to transfer my video from my camcorder to a disk. I refuse to do it on a computer as it can be a pain. Also, this is portable and can be taken with anywhere. So far, it works great, have created several home videos on it and they turned out fine. Panasonic makes a solid product so I knew I would be in good hands.

I would recomend this product. Escpecially if you have a panasonic camcorder. The two items pair up together with no problems.
