This review is from: Pancaratra Samhitas and Early Vaisnava Theology (Hardcover)
The text gives a serious overview of the Pancharatra literature and then translates the opening chapters of the Ahirbuddhnya Samhita on the topic of creation.
I found the author's translation is very true to the original Sanskrit text, and thank him for making this ancient text more available and so accurate.
Readers will find this book complemented by Otto Schrader's "Introduction to Pancharatra and the Ahirbuddhnya Samhita" (first printed in 1916). In it Shcrader 'summarizes' the entire Ahirbuddhnya Samhita. Matsubara has taken this to the next level.
The critical notes and references give a well rounded scholarly knowledge of early Vaisnava theology in India. This book is a must have for any scholar of Indian theology.
