The product is working perfectly, so far Panda IS has been able to detect and stop a couple of Trojans that came with some software that I received trough an email and I opened it, it has been able to clean several spyware downloaded through the internet.

I was a user of Webroot's Antivirus with Spysweeper. I was satisified with that but the unintegrated firewall was a problem for me. I ended up using Vcom's System Suite but that did not have the benefit of Webroot's automatic update. My son suggested Panda to me and I installed it when my Webroot subscription expired. Panda had automatic updates and an integrated firewall. Immediately I had trouble installing it as it detected the presence of Webroot and would not go any further. My efforts to uninstall Webroot were unsuccessful according to the Panda install program. I wrote to Panda and they sent me back instructions which I followed and was finally able to get Panda running.

I installed Panda on an XP system and then a new Vista system using my multiple liscense package. Afterwards, when I tried to install certain software patches and downloads to bring the new Vista system up to date, Pands's firewall seem to have an issue with that and set up roadblocks. I restored Vista to factory condition and allowed it to install it's built-in Norton security. I installed all my programs, downloads and updates and then I installed Eset on the advice of a physician/techno-whiz friend I work with. Eset help me uninstall Norton and then set up it's own housekeeping.

So far I am pleased with Eset. It seems to run well in the background. Panda was too tight. I never had a problem with Webroot but I wanted that firewall built in. Forget Norton...a friend had that on a laptop and when I ran Webroot on it, I found two worms lurking inside. I reviewed Cnet on security programs where I found loyal users for several programs including Norton but no consensus of opinion on any one security suite. Nobody was getting 5-stars. For me, it's Eset right now. Just my own opinion. Check it out. By the way, my son runs Panda and has not had any problems with it on his Vista system. He is satisified with Panda.

The product is working perfectly, so far Panda IS has been able to detect and stop a couple of Trojans that came with some software that I received trough an email and I opened it, it has been able to clean several spyware downloaded through the internet.

The Trojan virus was very bad, and it was cleaned on the first instance, however the Trojan is designed to download more software once it attacks the computer so the firewall also had to do it's work, it was very bad for some time until everything was disinfected.

Installation and updates are pain free, I'm ruining windows vista 64.

Excellent price (under 20!!!), good features, and the options are more than enough, I wish I had more options for the firewall, but I understand this is an approach to make the software more user friendly.

I will recommend to anyone!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Generic, February 2, 2009
This review is from: Panda Internet Security 2009 - 1 User [OLD VERSION] (CD-ROM)
I had Norton 2009 installed on my computer. I was having some trouble with it and decided to order a different brand of internet security software. I purchased Panda. I installed it and compared to Norton it's very generic. The full system scans literally took "forever", plus I didn't feel the layout was very user friendly when it came to configuring what features you wanted to turn on and off. There was no option for a quick scan so you had to choose the full scan which took about 45 min to an hour. Also, once you uninstall you cannot reinstall and keep your remaining subscription days, the disk is no longer valid. I ended up going back to Norton, got my situation resolved and was able to reinstall my Norton product with no problems. You can buy Norton for up to 3 pc's on Amazon for 39.99 which is a good deal. The same product on the Norton website is about 79.99. I am used to Norton because I have used it for so long so I may be partial, but if I ever wanted to switch again it would not be for Panda. It may be cheap to buy but it's also cheap to use. I didn't have it on long enough to judge whether or not it is a good internet security product so it's just my opinion that it's not user friendly for me.
