WOW, there is nothing bad that I could say about this software. I have been running the lite version of this since 2007 when it first came out and am amazed on the protection that it has given me over the free anti virus software that I was used to. I always tell people that the free versions out there are just gimmicks to get you to believe that you are protected. Once you actually put something on your system designed to sift thru the mess and find threats like Panda AntiVirus 2008 does you will never look back. I have also installed this on my vista system recently and don't see a drop of performance like I did with the other software out there for viruses and spyware. If you are looking for something easy and powerful for the computer novice in your life, this is the one to choose.

Is a very confiable antivirus, i recomend it, and if its possible to you spend a litle bit more money and buy the Panda Internet Securyte its the same antivirus plus firewall, system tools, and internet protection

I have used norton for many years and wanted a change so i purchased
panda antivirus and its great seems to block every thing in its path
good stuff.

I'be had this installed now for a few months, and generally it works well and unobtrusively. No real slowdown was noted, however this is on a very fast PC.

The email/phishing filter in totally broken, however. So far it has been 100 percent incorrect in every action. Every mail it tags as phishing, is legitimate; and every real phishing mail, is missed entirely. Not very reassuring.

One more thing, if you are the type that like to tweak settings and fine tune things, look elsewhere. Panda pretty much has no settings to tweak; it's their way or no way.

Panda Antivirus software slowed down my computer terribly. It took like 2 minutes for programs like WORD to upload (which was 10 sec. before) not to talk about internet browsing. My computer acted like it would have an virus. However, I reinstalled the program and bought McAfee instead. No problem there. It works just beautifully!!!

This is the best anti virus program that I have ever owned and I have owned several.(Kaspersky,NOD32,Norton,Bit Defender and PC Cillin). It does not bog down your system and it runs great and is very compatible with Online Armor Firewall and CounterSpy. It scans fast, protect your computer very well from viruses,trojans,spyware and all the culprits. It also has a stand alone scanner option built in called Total Scan Pro which can find culprits on your computer that regular anti-virus programs can't find. I definitely recommend this superb program.

I'm still trying to connect with Panda to correct a problem. I was on the phone with their support for an hour in which a corrupted to file was removed. This was supposed to correct the problem, but I still cannot get the software to update and lift my protection level from low to high. I'm not dissatisfied, just a bit discouraged that what came highly recommended is still not operational. Will update this once I reconnect, takes a good while to get someone on the phone, and see if they can finally fix.

...and it's an annoyingly persistent problem. It's the automatic updates. They're supposed to run when my system is idle, but for some reason Panda interprets the remote interface I use for work as "idle." The updates take up so much of my CPU that I cannot remain logged onto my work station while it is running.

Aside from this, Panda works great. No, really. It's awesome at detecting problems, and quarantines what it can't remove without me having to instruct it to do so. It works quietly in the background, and is compatible with the firewall and phishing filters I use. My only problem is the updates.

The only solution to this problem is to turn off automatic updates and use manual updates instead, since Panda does not have options for scheduling maintenance. If you're going to be reduced to manual updates, there's really no good reason to pay the purchase price for this product when a number of free products are now so close to this one in quality. Three stars until they offer scheduled maintenance.

Let me say i know computers very well.I have 20 years in computers.
I have this so called "Panda Antivirus 2008 - Mega Detection".
And let me tell you don't wast your hard working money on this
"Antivirus" CD.I have a computer that has a 56K USRobotis faxmodem,
And it was fast till i loaded this "Panda Antivirus 2008".
The box looks nice and everything but don't get it ok.
I then try to goto there web site and out of the blue i get this
window telling me "Application Not Found".So then i try to get
there "Online Tech Support" and out of the blue a window shows telling
me "Application Not Found".And thay do not have any kind of support
telphone numbers to get help with there "Panda Antivirus 2008".
Theo i did find one e-mail address so i e-mail them telling them
a very nice e-mail and i never got one e-mail back from them.
I got this from "Office Max" for $31.96 (And Thay Would Not Take It Back).
So just to let you all know if you love buying things that don't work
the right way then buy this rude "Panda Antivirus 2008" and find out
for yourself.Thank you for takeing time to read this review.

If you are being encouraged to purchase Panda Antivirus 2008 'AND' Panda Internet Security, "DO NOT" buy both. They will 'conflict' with each other. During installation each program will say that the other has to be un-installed first. Both have an antivirus program. The only real difference is that this version doesn't have a firewall and some other bells and whistles. The firewall already installed by Windows XP is more than sufficient. I had Panda Antivirus 2007 last year and it did a very nice job. These two products should not be advertised together, since they do not work in tandem. That's the only reason I gave it 3 stars. The product itself is very good.
