From the Manufacturer

The Pandigital PI7002AW is an impressive member of the Pandigital family of digital picture frames. Founded in 1998, Pandigital recognized the need to bridge new and traditional technologies like a digital camera and an elegant picture frame. Photography captures the special moments in our lives, moments that cannot be properly displayed or appreciated on the back of a digital camera. Pandigital has shipped more that 4 million digital picture frames and is one of the top 50 fastest growing companies in the US. In 2008, they were the #1 supplier of digital photo frames in North America. Their digital picture frames are of substantial quality, elegant and intuitive designs, they are versatile and affordable. A brilliant presentation of your happiest moments
The tabletop easel allows for easy placement on mantel or bedside stand, bookshelf or desk

The perfect companion for your digital camera
We capture our most precious, and our most common, moments because they are not to be forgotten or taken for granted. The moment when we take a picture we are making a decision to be conscious, to be in the moment and to be grateful for it. But a photo in a camera or on a flash card is only an unfulfilled intention. Let your images free. Give them the power they deserve in your life to make you smile, to remember, or to pause for a moment and consider the past. Take advantage of customizable features like rotate and resize, programmable on and off, and your presentation will be seamless

The gift of a digital photo frame to a friend or loved one is every bit as meaningful as the gift of one to yourself. Who doesn't need a pick-me-up right about now ? It is said that the gift of experience is so much more meaningful than a mere material object. If that is the case, then the gift of re-experiencing those special moments must be priceless. The PI7002AW includes 4 free digital greeting cards, which you can personalize with any message to your lucky giftee. The message will be displayed when the frame is turned on. Imagine the happy surprise of your recipient.

Share yourself with a slideshow
Framed pictures are such great conversation starters, and we get to know each other a little better when we share ourselves by displaying photos of friends, family, and favorite occasions. How much better we get to know each other through the use of slide shows, which allow us to showcase many special moments. We have seen our photo frames set in slide show mode at parties, family reunions, and gatherings to help establish a theme, at wedding anniversaries and bridal showers to highlight special moments in a couple's past. A slideshow on this Pandigital frame is as easy as inserting your memory card. The built-in card reader accepts SD, xD, MS, MSPro, MMC, as well as USB flash drives.

A little known feature is the built-in calendar and clock. If space on your bedside table is tight, there's no reason to not have a digital picture frame, just mount it on the wall using the built-in wall mount tabs. The panel can be turned off at night so that the light won't interfere with your sleep and a handy remote allows you to control major functions without crossing the room.

Accepts many media formats with no pc or software required

The Pandigital PI7002AW can play JPEG images straight from your memory card via the 5 in 1 card reader, with no PC ineeded. Alternatively, if you have files on your computer or camera, you can transfer them to the frame using the included USB cable. Don't forget the images on your cell phone, those can be transferred too. Drop and drag technology makes selecting images from your computer and transferring them to the frame's internal memory fast and easy, with no software needed.

Turned it on again; frame continued to freeze up.
It has stupid dimensions, HUGE or weird shaped pixels; everything has jaggies.
Anything else and spend a little more to get a quality frame.

I have been using the Pandigital PI7002AW Digital Frame for the last year. It has been durable and continues to work and look as good as when purchased. In order to get the photos to display optimally, it does require cropping (or resizing) the pictures to approximately 480 x 234 pixels to match the LCD screen resolution, but once you do this you can fit a lot of photos on the internal memory. It has a nice built in clock and calendar feature which not only allows you to see the time (or calendar) but also automatically turns the frame on and off at defined times and days (for example, great for use at the office where it turns on M-F at 8:00 AM and off at 5:00 PM).

This is not a high definition screen, nor is it large, but you will need to pay more for those features.

The picture quality is just plain awful. We recently bought a very nice Sony picture frame with supposedly the same dimensions, and that one shows beautiful pictures, while on this cheap one you can each individual pixel. The description on this item says that the aspect ratio is 16:9, elsewhere it's 16:10, but my opinion is that it's actually even longer than that, distorting the images quite a bit. The "stylish" replacement mat looks cheap. Also, the frame is way too large compared to the image size.
Don't buy it unless you particularly enjoy the process of returning merchandise, or buy it for someone you really don't like. :-)

My mother in law bought this as a gift for my sister in law and asked me to set it up. This was a good thing because I told her how bad it was and kept her from giving an embarrassingly bad gift. It has stupid dimensions, HUGE or weird shaped pixels; everything has jaggies. Even the preloaded sample/example pictures were horrible, if the manufacturer can't get their own shots to turn out decently, how good do you think yours will be?

If you don't mind all of your photographs looking like they were shot on a disposable camera, this is the digital frame for you.

As you read reviews for this thing, I'd be very suspicious of anyone giving it more than two stars-It's that bad.

I bought this for my kids, so they could see their pictures. I wouldn't give it to my kids, as the pictures show a faint square grid making them all look grainy. Also, the frame crops pictures instead of sizing them to the frame. This meant heads might be cut off or bodies not centered. Very poor quality. The picture would have been clear, I suppose from far away, but it's a 7 inch, so how far away can you get?

I guess if you have small horizontal pictures that you want to put in an office as something for show, it would be fine, particularly if you're willing to edit your pictures to make them fit. Anything else and spend a little more to get a quality frame. You won't be sorry.

I will say that it was very plug and play. I plugged it in, put in a card and it played the card. But, don't they all?

This one has a calendar feature, which I didn't review. It might be nice for that, if you want a high tech calendar.

All in all, I was very disappointed. I wouldn't buy another Pandigital again.
