CardioChek Triglycerides Test Strips,
By
This review is from: PTS Panel #1717 Test Strips Triglyceride Test (6 strips/box) for CardioChek PA or CardioChek ST
They work great, but what they DON'T tell you is that there is only a certain time frame they are good for and will refuse to work after that time. There must be a computer chip in them that determines the age of the strip and won't register after that date. I bought a large supply to begin with, and now over half are of no use to me!

This review is from: PTS Panel #1717 Test Strips Triglyceride Test (6 strips/box) for CardioChek PA or CardioChek ST
I first bought this over 2 years ago when I found out from my doctor my triglycerides were extremely high (over 2000). I bought this along with the CardioChek Cholesterol Meter to keep track of my levels... Unfortunately I found after I had ordered it the meter only works up to levels of 300 or 400- above that you just get a message saying they're too high to count. Still this is a limitation of the meter probably more than the strips.
But my major issue is these expire just a couple months from the time you receive them. If you don't use them immediately you can't use them at all. The meter won't even try to use them, it has some sort of chip that tells it the expiration date and the meter knows the real date (assuming you set it right) so don't order too many. I'm reordering them now because my triglyceride levels at last count were about 250- so this meter should now work. Unfortunately this was only after a long hospitalization with severe pancreatitus so I implore anyone who might have high triglycerides like I did to do EVERYTHING in your power to lower them. One day I was a normal guy with high trigs... the next day I was in ICU near death... it took 9 months before I was released from the hospital and now a year and a half since it first hit me I still can't walk. :(
