Surprisingly Good,
By Nicole Taylor (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pangea (Audio CD)
This CD was brought home as a bit of a gamble . . you can't always tell by the cover. Since it was first put on the CD drawer a week ago it's been played continually - I can't get enough of it. Reminiscent of Deep Forest, Enigma and plenty of other bands whose names escape me, it's haunting, beautiful, catchy, and addictive. I love it. I just wish I could sing along.

Derivative? Perhaps... Then again, so is Shakespeare.,

Deep Forest did for African tribal melodies what Enigma did for Gregorian chants. It ushered in a fresh perspective on vocals that would have otherwise been uninteresting to the common public. Five years after its' debut, Deep Forest has now found a less mature but equally enjoyable companion - Pangea. Though Nay-sayers will consider this work "unoriginal", on the contrary, it's a delightful and inspiring album that maintains the spirit, wonder, and innocence of an early Deep Forest.Listen and judge for yourself.

Adictive And Simply Beautiful.,
This review is from: Pangea (Audio CD)
It was "love at first sight"
So much so, that I thought that I would grow tired of it very soon. Now, 10 years later, I think this is one of the most beautiful CD's I've ever listened to. The simplicity makes it immediately likeable. The baseline is a masterpiece. Its brilliance and cleverness lets me enjoy it over and over again. No other CD of mine has been played as often as this one.

my favorite album,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pangea (Audio CD)
I Love this album, it is my favorite one. Each song is a carefully crafted experience of the sounds of Africa. From the fantastic intro lulling you into the experiance, to the wonderful interweaving of human voices both male and female. Included you will listen to thunder showers, the animals, and insects, and rhythms, from the prehistorical world of Pangea. Even the sound of the African foriegn words is beautiful to listen to.
