I stumbled across these guys recently, and I gotta say, it was love at first listen. I hear some Drive By Truckers, Whiskeytown, Steve Earle, J. R. Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Haggard so on and so on....all while maintaining a unique sound all their own. This is the kind of stuff you pop in the stereo while crusing through the Central Valley with the windows down, it can seriously brighten your day.
