5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Colors, August 13, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Panorhythmica (Audio CD)
Chasm's latest CD Panorhythmica is a colorful as well as musical adventure. The bright but hollow sounding acoustic nylon string guitars along with the jazzy but haunting flutes fly effortlessly above an earthy percussion section. Whether the rhythm of the song drives, grooves or floats, an evocative melody remains front and center... rip 'n' tearing or just senually gliding. The music travels to places warm and colorful, all the while feeling connected from the beginning to end of the album. Gone are trappings of musicians playing too many notes as if they are being "paid by the note" nor is there any needless noodling which ignores the listener all together. Primative and modern, this CD is an excellent example of how goooood Acoustic Instrumental music can be. Every time I've played Panorhythmica in a mixed group of people, there is always someone who asks, "What are we listening to? I like it!" I like it too... A LOT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chasms Panorhythmica Soulful Sounds for Creative Spirits, June 11, 2001
By
This review is from: Panorhythmica (Audio CD)
Chasm offers an exquisitely soulful and varied mix of sounds and melodies that transport its listeners and excite their imaginations. Chasm's vibrations are timeless; they evoke the spirits of the sublime world of nature, reminding listeners of their own individual and collective archetypal selves regardless of specific cultural origins. This music is trans-cultural - it would equally have found a home with the ancient Méxica-Azteca poet nobility as well as with Enlightened thinkers like Thomas Jefferson or Thomas Paine. Moreover, this music transcends the limits of time and space. Despite its placement in the post-modern world, Chasm honors its audience with music for all time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chasm's music is soulful sustenance for the creative spirit, June 9, 2001
By
This review is from: Panorhythmica (Audio CD)
Chasm's music is intellectually enriching and charged with a sweetness and energy that complements any environment. Its sounds reflect the sublime in a way that would be admired by anyone in any time or place. Chasm's eclectic vibrations and stirring melodies would have found homes among the Mexíca-Azteca poet-nobility or Enlightened thinkers such as Thomas Jefferson of centuries past, while being very much a part of our evolving post-modern world. This is music for our time and for all generations. Chasm evokes the rhythms of the natural world in all its splendor while invoking the creative spirit within each and every listener. This music is a must for any collection. Thanks guys!
